I got on a Danish Freehand kick a couple of years ago and still have a couple of beautiful pieces in my collection, but for me, I prefer simplicity and function over whimsy any day. Give me a solidly engineered bulldog or billiard and I'm a happy guy. Although I have to admit, I wouldn't mind having a blowfish in my collection one of these days.

By far the straight billiard, as it also might well be one of the most difficult shapes to truly master and have great grain orientation. Because of its simplicity, the tiniest detail can disrupt its balance but also endless variations are possible .

(bent) Bulldog/rhodesian: Here I find the lines of the shank very importing.

Wow tschiraldi, beautiful pipes! What make are they?

Unless I'm mistaken, I think they were made by Jesse Jones.
That is correct. They were both made by Jesse Jones. He is currently working on a smooth one for me! Two failed blocks so far.Fingers crossed he finds the right one soon!
