At the end of 2016 we announced that we would be ceasing supply of Dunhill cigars and pipe tobacco by the end of 2017.
Like many companies, we continually review and refine our global strategy to ensure the sustainability of our business for the future.
These products make up a very small part of our overall business – the rest of the Dunhill portfolio is not affected by this decision.
While we appreciate that this may be disappointing news for some consumers and industry partners, these decisions help us to remain focused on, and investing in, the right parts of our business to ensure our longevity and profitability for the future.

We should have a moment of silence.

Dear gentlefolk,
Please reconsider your decision to kill off Dunhill Pipe Tobacco.
Like many other products with a long history, these blends constitute a tradition in themselves, passed down between generations and enjoyed by those who like a high-quality product at a price suited to normal middle class living.
While pipe smoking seems to be in decline, most of this is an artifact of the inability to smoke in the workplace. With telecommuting having risen 115% since 2005 (https://www.flexjobs.com/2017-State-of-Telecommuting-US/), more of us are able to work at home and enjoy pipes, which otherwise would require one-hour smoke breaks which employers tend to frown upon.
I believe that, within the decade, you will see this storied blend return to profitability. In the meantime, please consider licensing it to one of the competent North American or European blenders to keep the legacy of Dunhill pipe tobacco alive.
Thank you for considering my request.
Sent to BAT via their contact form.

Luckily I have already activated my Dunhill bunker and have plenty cellared. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the latecomers to buy out the remaining vendor inventory.

Perhaps the FDA deeming regs make the sale and altered production of the blends too uncertain to ask an appropriate price. Otherwise, I would think some millions could be shaken out of the blends. Pre-2007 matching blends should do well. Sutliff's Westminster is said to be similar to London Mixture, but there are a number that are sold directly as matches.

I am pretty stocked on these with 24 blue flake and at least 5 each of the others. Hmmm, I wonder if that is enough.

The headline of this thread makes me sad. There is such a long history between Dunhill and pipe smokers. Hard to believe it is really coming to an end.

Yep, I'm not waiting on Richemont to call me back, either. But, one thing I've learned in life is that the squeaky wheel does get the grease and yet, most people will not squeak politely, which is how you get a lot of things done.
Next step obviously is to stage a protest where we occupy the offices of BAT until they release the Dunhill tobaccos.
965 and Royal Yacht are being held hostage by MBAs, as far as I can tell.

I think ( and hope ) another company will take over Dunhill's blends. Way too much money involved!!

Even if they don't use the Dunhill name, and do 'Nightcap Tribute' or something like that.

Exactly and ' Original Mixture or Blends ' should be added also.......

So be it. I will sorely miss them but I keep in mind that there are still many other excellent offerings on the market.

I will focus on them from now on. :puffy:

Wow, first I heard of it. I guess I better get a few tins of Nightcap and 965 before they're gone.

This really makes me sad. What the hell am I going to do when I run out of Dark Flake and Navy Rolls? It just does not bear thinking about. You can't even get Escudo in the UK anymore so that's no replacement. Anyone know of something like Dark Flake I can get in the UK?
It weirdly feels similar to losing a very close, dear and personal friend.
Grim.
