Hi all. I am new to smoking and just bought my first semi restored estate pipe on ebay. As you can see below, it has some cracks on the inside of the bowl and the stem is cocked slightly when it is fully screwed on. Is there a good way to address the cracks or should I leave them alone? Also, how should I go about adjusting the stem?

(FYI: this is my first legit post so I hope all pictures are attached)

I will give you some info - surprised nobody jumped in.

If the adjustomatic is working then you can twist the stem around until it lines up. That is the beauty of the adjustomatic. As far as the inner bowl goes I would just smoke it but gently for a few bowls until you get a cake developed.

I believe that is a continental shape, some of the best IMO.

Thank you so much for the info. The stem twisted around nicely into place. I was initially nervous about doing that. And I will go ahead and smoke it gently.

It's funny, I was drawn to buying it just based on the shape. Glad to hear it is a respectable pipe!
