Georged, I am pretty dam sure your skill has to exceed an average, one unique pipe at a time, maker/artisan. Your tone is easy for me to spot in your posts, so one usually has to try to get offended by what you say.
I have only a macro understanding of pipe making, fixing and refurb. But I can tweak my own used pipe buys to smoke how I would like, and that is about it, see any of my posts on fixing cracked shanks with superglue.
