George- Do you think that mouthpiece is indeed round? I would like to see a top view. I was thinking that the picture just showed the side profile view......... if it was 'round all around, then how the hell could you smoke it?.........

Anyone notice the optional ball-ended stem that used to be offered? So you can hand hold and smoke a briar like a hookah, I guess. (The "comfortable on the teeth" claim makes no sense at all... an ad copy mistake?)

I was browsing through this catalog the other night looking for a particular shape example and I paused on this. At first glance, I wasn't even sure what it was. The bit of Shell-finished shank looked like ashes at the end of a cigar holder to me.
Maybe this was an idea to satisfy gents with considerably less than perfect dental alignment and the bit was meant to sit in the gap between the teeth?
