I'm a member of an online community (badgerandblade.com) primarily focused on traditional wet shaving.

A little over a year ago a friend there put me on to an eBay listing for a shaving brush with a Sterling silver handle fashioned in the image of a Plains Indian Chief. A few weeks back I accidentally came across the tobacco jar shown in the photos below. I paid way too much for it, but even my wife agreed I didn't have a choice. The two were destined to be together.

Thanks. The brush has horse-hair knot. Never crossed my mind to use it. I did give a little thought to possibly restoring it, but it would have to be opened up by a silversmith, and the knot-size it would take (about 16mm) is quite a bit smaller than I generally prefer (24-25mm). So I more or less regard myself as a trustee.
But the jar I will definitely use!

Wow what amazing luck. Personally I find them hideous but I'd still love to have them on my desk!
