Castello weights tend to vary with the shape. 75's (stack bowl Lovat), for example, can be shockingly light. There is a lot of wood in the heel and shank of a 55, so they might surprise you with their weight. If you won't buy a Castello because it weighs over x grams, so be it. The weight is no indication of the quality of the briar. The overall comfort level in your mouth is much more likely to be determined by the way the stem suits you. I have two 55's, an older large G size Trademark and a much more modest size newer "Kino" kk Collection, which of course weighs less. The former is more comfortable in my mouth.

k grades on Castellos reflect the value Franco Coppo places on the pipe. They are affixed at the time the sale to the dealer is finalized and are relative to the pipes being solld right then as much as any absolute standard.

Well, I had a change of mind in the last minute and went for the 65 2k.
I just like the shape of the 65 more.
If I will go for another Castello, that will be a 55 for sure.

I contacted Luca, purchased the pipe at Tabaccheria Corti.
His service is really amazing!
Will proba buy also a Ser Jacopo from him.
Thanks a lot gentlemen for the recommendations.

Btw. does any one knows when the 55 shape was introduced? Did Scotti offer it already in 1947?
