buying tobacco from america and sending to uk

I am looking to purchase some tobacco from america and having it delivered to uk

There seems to be a much larger chioce of pipe tobacco in america

Can any one advise me if i can do this and what i have to do about uk tax

How do i pay the tax

I was in the Navy for 14 Yrs and in my experience the Duty tax is payed on the senders side when he claims it on the customs form. With that said it will be figured into the shipping from any company and if it is a private sender he can just claim they are cookies or some sort of snack type care package to avoid the Duty Tax.
