Hello all, I've been trying to obtain a pipe in the $100 range. I've been checking out SP, James Fox, my local shops and I can not decide, both due to my inexperience and the magnitude of options. So I ask for your recommendations, preferably not exceeding a hundred too much.
Also, I've started looking at eBay auctions, but oftentimes the shipping is too expensive, still, I'll be glad if I can find a reasonable shipping rate for a good pipe.
I'll be especially happy if I can find a good Lovat or Canadian, but they're not the only ones I'll accept. I'll be happier with most bowl sizes, if not extremely huge/small.
So as you can understand, I don't have very specific details, both because I have a limited price range and limited experience.

Lots of great pipes out there in that price range. Take a look at the Peterson Aran line. Just under $100 and they have a nice Canadian and Lovat. I have five Arans including a Canadian and Lovat. They are great looking pipes and they smoke great too. :puffy:

I would look at a Savinelli. A quick check is SmokingPipes web site showed pipes in their Bruna, Capri, Soiree, and Roma lines in both Canadian and Lovats under your $100.00 price point. Savinelli are well made pipes and are noted for being good smokers.

I've found a Savinelli that looks like a "Lovatified" Poker here, maybe I'll go for it.
What about BriarWorks Classic line?

I agree with the Click and Jkrug, you can't go wrong with a Savinelli or a Peterson, and both manufacture Lovats/Canadians. I don't think you'd be disappointed by either company; however, you won't know if you truly love a certain pipe until you get it home and smoke it a few times (even with two "identical" pipes). The web is full of reputable sites that sell both of these brands at resonable prices.
Good luck, and puff on!

As has been stated...there are lots of very good pipes within your budget. I'll agree with looking at the Savinelli line. I recently got a beaut of a Sav for under $100. It looks awesome and smokes as well...best fit and finish of the several pipes in this price range I own.

There is a wide range of pipes at that price level. Take a look at pipesandcigars Stanwells and Big Bens; smokingpipes.com Johs and Genods; and Iwan Ries Savenelli discount pipes, just for starters. Parkers and Britannia at cupojoes.com. Butz-Choquin and Chacom at all three.

As the others have stated, there are lots of nice pipes in that price range from a variety of makers. I love my Savinelli pipes and I don't think you can go wrong with any of there pipes.

The Hilson Vintage series are great pipes -- priced way under their value. The wood (on the one I bought, at any rate) is top notch, and light weight. They are carefully engineered and crafted, and smoke sweetly from day one. They are supposedly over 50 yrs. old -- N.O.S. pipes.

They are not filtered pipes, but some have removable stingers. I bought the 480, Dublin, because of its long oval wooden shank, reminiscent of the Lovat or Canadian.

You can go wrong with Peterson's Aran line if fills bother you. Otherwise, a fine choice!
Where are you located? Can you get to a B+M shop?

For pipes in and around the $100 range, I would highly recommend Sébastien Beo or Luciano. They both produce excellent factory pipes at very reasonable prices ($80 - $125).
I have both manufacturers represented in my collection and would not hesitate to add another if the pipe spoke to me.

Hmm... My expensive pipes are in the 100$ range.. Lol
My most expensive pipe was $90. Budget would be much less than that.
Hence the quote marks :puffy:

Currently, in Turkey. There are several B&Ms but the USD-TRY parity makes it illogical to buy here, you know, taxes and stuff. Still, I have a few choices, Savinellis, Mastro de Pajas and Petersons.
$100 is budget range? Judging by the title I was going to recommend you get yourself an MM cob!
Hehe, got one MM and one Old Dominion on the way.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check 'em out!

As others have said, Savinellis are a great choice. Look for 703 or 701 shapes. You can find plenty different varieties in the $100 range. We have 6 different finishes in that price range.
However, for that shape and price point, I really like the Chacom 297 which is only $70. Leaves you a little budget for some extra tobacco.
Or, if you could go with a Rossi (which is made by Savinelli). These are super-affordable and really well liked, if you're not looking for a memorable finish. The Rossi Rubino 804 is a good choice for around $60.
(Full disclosure, I work for the company linked to here. But you can find all these pipes other places as well.)
