I am rather smitten with Peterson spigots. Here's the little Bluebird Rhodesian I bought from TP.

I’m calling it an interpretive cutty. Look at the forward cant on the straight stem, and the foot. It’s technically a freehand, I suppose, but it’s like a tulip bowled cutty, with lots of artisanal variation. It’s mine so I’ll call it what I want. nana
NO! It's a sitter, so it can't be a cutty! You call it what I say or will come all the way down to confiscate it!

Yes it can. I’m rubber and you’re glue, and cherrywood bounces off me and sticks to you! I’m basing my cutty-ness off of the modern, not clay-esque cutty shapes, like the Sav below. How about a compromise and we call it a “Footed Dublin?” I first thought “CuttyWood”, but that was too reminiscent of Lorena Bobbit. 11020

I bought some tobacco. Posted in the TAD thread as well

I recognize a few of those sticks. Got a few Montecristos in my humidor right now. Getting a bunch of different cigars to try is always fun. I'm more deliberate with my pipe tobacco, but I really like picking up an assortment of various 90+ rated cigars and smoking them on the patio during the warm months. I do find myself going back to the Macanudo Inspirado series and the Arturo Fuente Gran Reservas, but new sticks are always welcome.

Fed my PAD a bit. Picked up a pair of Pipe by Lee Lovat-ish pipes. They’re both 7-point star models, which dates them to the 1945-55 timeframe. (Later pipes had 5-point stars.)

I tried to get better shots of the grain—both have decent Birdseye and straight sections—but had trouble getting rid of the glare.
Smaller pipe:

Bigger one (bowl is ~2” exterior):

They each have a few dings, but the rims, bowls, and stems are in rather good condition, and in natural lighting there’s no off tint in the stain. And I stayed within my $50/pipe budget. Parsimony prevails.

I got a new 100g tin of Rattrays Marlin Flake, more 100g tins (two each) of Solani: Silver Flake and Aged Burley, some Revor Plug from a buddy (swap) and 5 more tins of HH Acadian Perique and a couple of tins of Reiner's Blend 71: Long Flake and 5 tins of Capstan Blue. Should keep me puffing for a while.

Now I await the postman with bated breath.

Well, I fired up the new Owl today. Smokes great, aside from the typical first smoke issues (woody taste, etc) but smokes like a champ and no gurgles at all. A little tough to get the flame down into the chamber without touching the big love rim, but that is easily overcome. Overall, a quality pipe that is a great looker and smoker. @supperthyme and @olkofri . And it’s a freehand cutty. Second place is footed Dublin, but cherrywood is nowhere to be found. 12274
