So here's my 3rd buy of the month. It's pretty simple and straight forward. This is my first Bjarne, so I was wondering what some of you thought of them? Are they good smokes?

I bought one from Marty Pulvars, unsmoked, Marty said that it was unsual for him to get one unsmoked. It's a decent smoker I don't believe you will regert getting it.

I'm a big fan of the original, hand-made Bjarnes with the "BJ" logo. I think they are excellent pipes that can still be found for not a lot of money. The current "Viking" series pipes are a shadow of their former selves.
I think you did very well.

I have a small Ribbon that is a nice pipe for flakes. The older pipes are not easy to find so you did well and should have a good smoker. Good luck and Happy Smoke Rings.

I do have a hand made Bjarne brandy saddle with bottom rustication partcially.

When I got the pipe I was shock with finish smoothness like velvet or silk.

Straight Grain is superb. Easy draw make a smoke fantastic.
Here is grade for BJ(top to bottom)

1. Bjarne Nielsen, Handmade, A,B,C,D......

2. Bjarne, Handmade

3. Bjarne, Handcut

4. Viking

Congrat!!! Enjoy and Happy smoking.

I have a Bjarne Viking "Denver" Rhodesian which is an inexpensive pipe, and it is a good pipe.
