Is the root burl used to make strawberry pipes?

Indeed it is. The wood grows together with briar, and it is harvested the same way and processed side by side.

Looks like Ryan is already getting ready for 2016 GKCPC Pipe Carving Contest!!

I should be ! This pipe was made before the shape was announced. I had made up my mind to keep it for myself, but had kept it unsmoked so far. I got an email from Shikano asking me if I had any Authors laying around, and it just so happened I did LOL.
