Anyone have a good recommendation for something to clean silver/nickel pipe bands? Hopefully something no so harsh that it would remove portions of the metal?

I've been using Metal Glo or Flitz for years and I've never found it to be aggressive to the point that it would in any way damage the metal.

I've always just used a little bit of Tarn X. I'm careful not to smear it all over the pipe, but have never had any problem with it damaging anything.

+1 on the jeweler's cloth. This thing works like a charm, it removes the fine scratches and gives back the original shine. Look up member cosmicfolklore on the forum, there was a thread on the subject not too long ago and mentioned how abrasive certain products can be and how easily they will eat away the metal... You can find the cloths at craft supply stores, jewelry stores. They last a long time too.
