Thanks to the beautiful wobbly tilted pokers and cherrywoods posted on here lately, my PAD is flaring up again.

Just grabbed this GBD:

I've got a fever and the only cure is more pokers.
This my is only cherrywood. Its a Storient PM 2012. I had his carve MOD on it since I'm a mod and it's the official forum pipe of 2012

awesome meer! That "MOD" will look great once the color sets in.

Thank! It says PM 2012 on the other side of the shank. I've only smoked it a handful of times. I have to smoke outside, and it's been really cold out. I don't want to risk cracking it.

I missed that GBD, assume it was on Ebay? How is it stamped? (Rockroot?)
Yes, eBay.
Stamped:

GBD

Tabou
then a "St. Claude" stamp and a shape number. I'll know more when it gets here. Haven't seen any Tabou line in the references...

The title begs for an off color joke, but I liked the GBD so much I didn't have the heart. I'm glad your yearning has been temporarily cured!

Pokers are lovely in their simplicity. One of mine is a LaRocca with a good big deep bowl and narrow metal band. Recently I saw a Parker in sandblast black.

I hadn't seen a Parker poker before, so I jumped on it. (I'm used to the little apples and pots.) It's a great little pipe, breaking in nicely. I call pokers snowman

pipes because of their homey shape. I have a hand-carved example from Jerry Perry in N.C., with striking variance in the bowl thickness, a kind of zen

irregularity, which I also especially like. Every pipe rack needs a resident poker.
