    DUNHILL LBS 4R SP

Congrats sir. That is a fair price for a stunning beautiful Dunhill Root from a good period. I'm a sucker for the packaging. The grain on this one is excellent, well done. Glad it was won by one of your forum members. Rodrigo is always cherry picking, this pipes never disappointed me and he's a...

    DUNHILL LBS 4R SP

A Dunhill with a saddle stem was given a 6 stamp, but you of course know that :) On some shape models a saddle stem was quite rare. I own two unsmoked and unsullied 1967 Tanshell billiards ; pitch black stems, never seen the light of day . One with such a stamp and a saddle mouthpiece ...

    Time for a clay pipe.

The one clay I ever smoked is an antique Brasenose from Colin Lunn, once located in Oxford. It has an ebonite mouthpiece. What struck we most is the pure taste of the tobacco, like smoking a meerschaum. Mind you, the bowl will be too hot to hold !

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

No, not just pipes. It has to do with "exotic wood " and I fear what they do is legit. I addressed this on the Ebay forum. Blackthorn sticks, rosewood guitars, ebony walking sticks etc. You name it, they take it !

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Usually shipping pipes from the US or UK to the Netherlands is not a problem and I bought many pipes from this particular seller . As stated before I also lost some very fine blackthorn walking stick shanks because of the Ebay GS. Also sent from the UK.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Now this is really infuriating  and that is an understatement. This set was stolen from me by Pitney Bowes on december 07th. and now it is resold for less the price I paid. How did it get there where it is sold from now ? I hope it was purchased by one of us and he will be so kind as to...

Accidentally Removed Some Finish off the Rim

Any mineral oil works. Jojoba oil does a great job, so does paraffin - . My all time favourite though is recorder oil. Even Balistol works fine. What matters is that it does not go rancid, as does for example olive oil. Some hold a different opnion; this is what works for me.

Accidentally Removed Some Finish off the Rim

It depends ; on your skills, state of mind and on the type of stain/finish applied :) I have very little experience with removing finish ( often shellack ) , but restained many pipes. Both need to be done precisely and take talent and skill. Try mineral ( not vegetable ) oil . Shellack dissolves...

Accidentally Removed Some Finish off the Rim

If you like add it to your profile :) It is finish you removed , not stain.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Joking aside; this is a fine set of very rare pipes and it looks to be in fair condition. The seller is a kind and very cooperative gent, I purchased from him before. This one was out of my reach, but I love it to bits.
