    Grechukin and Tupitsyn Pipe Availability?

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) Are there other sites outside of SP or Scandpipes that regularly stock Grechukhin or Tupitsyn pipes? It seems like they should have a larger distribution, but I typically only see one-offs outside of these sites. Just curious if anyone knows of...

    Pipe Shops In Oslo/Bergen/Amsterdam?

I'll be taking a trip soon and wondering if there are any shops I should check out!

Prince Albert in stock at SP

Getting harder to find, but it's available now. Stock up.

    Axel Glasner pipes

I'm curious if anyone has tried his pipes, and if so, if you know where the heck to find them or how to contact him. I see scandpipes and this one in particular is quite nice http://www.scandpipes.com/pipes/297-axel-glasner/4014-chubby-bent-facet/ I love his paneling style but the ones I've...

    Le Nuvole Pipes

Anyone here have any? I got one recently and I'm very impressed. It's a rather conservative piece, but it is smoking like a machine. I don't hear them spoken about much other than Pease showing his fallen prince, perhaps a few other instances. Here's mine. Not what I'd call a craggy blast...

Castello - Old Catalogues / Cost And Perception Back In The Day?

The Dunhill thread over here http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/dunhill-pipe-prices-in-the-60s?replies=18 has made me wonder what Castello pipes were viewed as and what they were priced at when they hit the market back in 1947 and through the years. I've also always wondered what the...

Who Makes White Spot / Dunhill Now?

I have three of the newer production "white spot" Dunhills. I think the going knowledge at this point is that they aren't made by Dunhill. I'm curious if anyone knows what company DOES make them, or where said company may be located. I actually really enjoy my three White Spots and think...

Replacing Old Boy pipe lighter case?

I have an Old Boy with an outer casing (think the briar cased ones you may have seen). The case has a crack in it, and I'm going to try to replace it with a new one. Has anyone done this? I can't seem to find instructions online. I can't imagine it's that hard, but figured I'd ask before I do...

Ashton - Jimmy Craig vs. Bill Taylor

I had one Bill Taylor years ago, but it was a bit wonky and it was sold. Otherwise, I've only had Craig pipes. I like the two I have quite a bit, and have been thinking of getting another. But a part of me wants to get a true blue Bill Taylor Ashton rather than another Craig. Anyone have an...

    Cleaning Acrylic?

My understanding is that you aren't supposed to use alcohol on acrylic as it can ruin it and cause it to crack and shatter. So, what do you all use for cleaning your acrylic stems?

    Maltan?

I just ordered some of this from James Fox and eagerly await its arrival. Its description sounds right up my alley. Has anyone here smoked much of this? What are your thoughts? I also have some Condor Bar coming which I can't wait to try.

What Is The Obsession With Hipsters

I see this pop up all the time, people talking about hipsters taking over pipe smoking, hipster this, hipster that, "I'm sure not a hipster" (hint: if you feel you need to say you're not a hipster you probably are), etc. I sit here twirling my handlebar mustache and contemplating my next...

    Interesting Castellos popping up

I've been noticing some oddball shapes popping up from Castello here and there. It makes me wonder if they've got a new carver on staff that they're allowing to carve outside the lines a bit more than they normally would. link

    Castello on the way

Well, I've gone and done it again. Should be here on Friday and I have that day off so I'll have a few solid days to settle in with it. It's an estate Collection 3k.

    5 digit dunhill shape number?

Hadn't really looked before but just noticed that my lone Dunhill is stamped 51011. 5101 would make sense, a group 5 taper stem apple, but does anyone know why the fifth digit may have been added? Any potential story there beyond just being a mis-stamping?

    Dove into a meer

Ordered today, now the wait from Turkey. I've smoked meers before, but never a high quality one save for a CAO Bacchus head that simply wouldn't stay lit. There was something wrong with that pipe but I never figured out what as it was rather early on in my pipe smoking career. I like...

    Altinok?

I may be about to take the plunge in getting a quality meerschaum and was curious what people think about these. I can't tell if it's the photos on the site or not, but a few pictures make it seem as though the stem/shank junction is not necessarily going to be flush - is it just me? Anyone...

    "Pipe mud"

How many of you have used this combo of ash and water to make a "mud" for repairing the inside of a pipe? I remember doing it many moons ago on a cheap pipe and seem to recall feeling that it killed the flavor, didn't want to cake, and the pipe smoked wet... but I don't know if that's just...

    New Castellos

Howdy folks. PAD is alive and well. I eyeballed this first one for a week or so before going for it - this is quickly becoming my favorite Castello. It fits perfectly and smokes like a monster. Then I let my fingers do some walking, and to be perfectly honest they probably weren't doing so...

    Bracken Flake

I hadn't thought of this flake in some time and I kind of go in waves - periods of lighter VAs, VA/Pers, and dark VA/burley/etc types. Well, I'm on a monster darker flake kick right now and pulled out my last jar of Bracken. Since it was the last, I went and poked around to see where I could...
