Congratulations, Twiggy! Good luck with your continued progress. It's good to hear you already managing expectations for the next round to go more slowly than this round did. That kind of stuff can get in to a person's head and reverse the progress if you don't have a realistic approach. Keep on...
You can also look in to European factory pipes. They start between $50-$100 and all in that range that I own are quality smokers and look pretty darn nice to boot. Ropp, Savinelli, Chacom, Bruyere St Claude, and Stanwell to name a few.
I have similar smoking habits to you, balindamood. I average about 8 bowls a week and have 4 tins open. I just keep smoking right outta the open tins (I put the lid back on, of course). I prefer my tobacco to be more on the dry side than I think the average pipe smoker, so perhaps this is why...
Thanks hawky454. I had a feeling it was just a cosmetic thing, glad to hear others believe the same. I agree on your choice moving forward. I have enough shiny pipes, could do with a bit of a change.
Hi Everyone,
I have encountered an “issue” with my recently purchased Stanwell Royal Guard. After every smoke I give my pipes a rub-down with a lightly damp rag. Nothing vigorous, just a gentle once-over. However, this process appears to be affecting my Stanwell in a maybe not so positive way...
Each “Hunting pipe” is themed after a game species. This one is supposed to represent a wood pigeon. Each year they add a new species to the pipe line.
As always with this kind of stuff, I had the exact opposite experience from briarboyo. I found CB to give me a fair amount of bite while I've had extreme luck with the 7 Seas line being easy-smoking aros. The 7 Seas are pretty much the only aros I smoke these days, in fact. But again, its always...
Had my first smoke of C&D's Haunted Bookshop in the new Nording. I have no complaints. The pipe smoked perfectly and cool. Passed a pipe cleaner no problem. Also, I loved Haunted Bookshop. It was my first Va/Bur and I am looking forward to cracking in to the other Va/Burs I purchased.
Congratulations on getting them in the soil. The effort you’ve put in alone is incredibly impressive and should be a source of pride for you. Many well-laid plans never move beyond the planning stage. Hats off to you!
