    The Pipe Condom

Toobfreak, that is an interesting concept. I have 5 gourds and though they are not in my current rotation they are very enjoyable. One in particular was quite dirty in this area from a previous smoker (they were all estates) who enjoyed florals. I do not enjoy florals and it was a real job...

Notice of unpaid tobacco tax in NJ

" The taxes will soon be the norm. No one will complain as it is all they know." Sadly seems to be a trend with them about many things, Warren. I use to laugh about conspiracy theories including the dumbing down of education. I do not laugh anymore.

    Tongue Bite.

I love VA's but of late I have noticed VA blends I have smoked for a long while are beginning to give me a problem. Not just my tongue but all the tissues in my mouth. It is gone the next day and if I avoid them It seems to be no problem. Some people on the site have had a problem with them...

    What Would It Take?

Tall tree short rope. My B&M has been there for 80 or more years, has a lounge, the whole taco. I have never asked but I get the idea the help is all part timers working for the discount smokes. Never seen the owner, may be out of state at this point. He has a goldmine in a young single guy who...

    Non Famous Pipe Smokers

Henry Levi, one of my first employers, pipe smoker extrordenaire. "Grey beard convention in here. Any of you guys have a working prostate?" Ha ha ha. Just you wait it is coming to an organ near you. Time is not on your side

A nice smoky gift from Turkey

Ahmad that really does look tasty. "Also, noticed that the health warning covers 75% of one side of the pouch." Jack, the Good ole UN is not going to let you down brother, whether you want them to or not. Great to know Uncle Sam and the UN are so concerned about your habits.

Notice of unpaid tobacco tax in NJ

"What company? Would like to know so that I never shop there. Most states expect their residents to report and pay any internet sales tax not collected by the out-of-state merchant, but I have never heard of the merchant being responsible for reporting a consumer to their respective state for...

    An Apt Analogy?

When I smoked cigarettes it was soley for the nic. Cigars are fragile and expensive. My pipes are to some degree for nicotine, but have a quiet perspective that can travel well, is flexible in selection, and less expensive than cigarettes or cigars. Having said that to each his own. 40 years...

    Pipe Zombies

I do tend to turn somewhat green when I cannot smoke my pipe for several days.

    HS Studio Pipes

I have wondered about them. They look all right and are priced cheaply enough. Do they use briar? The Chinese make me somewhat nervous when it comes to the materials they have used to make toys etc . Paints and finishes would be a question also. They are not known for being to careful about...

    What Is Your Personal Motto?

Better to keep your mouth shut and seem a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

    Daughters & Ryan 3 Sails---Disappointed

I have 12 quart jars of Silver that I hydrated with Honey Bourbon aging in my cellar. Have not smoked any as yet. Has never moulded. I did it just to see if it would work. I put it up in jars so it would be obvious if it went bad. Well over a year ago and maybe 2 looks really good.

Does the "10 Pipe Grab Bag of Smokable Seconds" worth the money?

"Been thinking of getting this myself. If nothing else, you have a few pipes you can give to friends if they want to try smoking." Hmhaines, that is a great idea.

    Christmas Pipes

"I have a 2012 Peterson Christmas 999 bent Rhodesian with nickel band. I mainly bought it because my daughter was born 12/21/2012, so it's Damn near the same age as her. The band comes loose sometimes, but other than that it's a great pipe." Have one that did the same thing with the band coming...

How to store your tobacco properly

"I am always careful to store my tobacco in a vacuum, free from air, gravity, and politics." It is getting more and more difficult to keep politics out of our tobacco  Jars for short term/ mylar for long term. Mylar is far less expensive than jars and lighter to move around.

Type of Tobacco While Breaking a Brand New Pipe

My dad has told me the stories several times about how during the war ( WWII ) if they really wanted tp piss off another sailor or marine they would ream the cake out of the guys pipe. But back then especially with men who had no room for a rotation they must have smoked the same pipe most of...

Type of Tobacco While Breaking a Brand New Pipe

Anything with Virginias in it seems to work good for me. "This particular Brog was olive wood, not briar as stated when I purchased it." 1coyote, how did the olive wood seem to smoke before it burned out? I have always wanted one for my collection. The trees are very long lived so I would think...
