What is the purpose of the hole in Zippo felt?

It is a "dipstick" hole. You stick something like a toothpick in it to check fluid level before heading out.

    P&C 20% Off Everything

Russ, you need to pick up an old hand wrapping machine like I used for sealing the meat I cut when stores started tray display cuts. You could throw a few loops around a group of tins before you ship them. Much like some of the 5? packs that get shipped to you.

    In Defense of Brylon Pipes

Why I don't bother to post in here very often. I have had at least a few Brylon pipes in my smoking rotation for the last 40+ years. Sure, they can get hot if your not careful with your cadence using them but they don't get soggy if you keep them clean. Just run a pipe cleaner through them and...

JimInks on Radio Show of June 26, 2014.

Always thought jiminks was just a pigment of someones imagination. No one can smoke the amount he posts about, or he did not finish the panels in time for tonight's show.

Packing Fresh Tobacco Without Emptying Pipe

I have been topping off a pipe like that for about 40+ years at times. Dump it when it gets to full of ash.

Any Black Powder Shooters Out There?

Try getting the ticking patch "damp" using black powder solvent. You only want it slightly wet not dripping. Will help like a lube to get the ball down the barrel. Also it helps cut the fouling down. Cleans the barrel a bit each time you load up.

    Pipes&Cigars ...Russ, What is Happening?

Just got an email asking me to review my purchase of Newminster superior round slices that I ordered Aug. 15th when it was showing it in stock. Got a back order notice on it about a week later and I am still waiting. Would think they would pay closer attention and notice they have not shipped it...

    Do PM's work in here?

I sent a PM to Keven that was tagged to go to admin. Asked a question about tracking down a brand of Velvet tobacco from the early 70's or 60's? Velvet Sterling blend. Sent the PM the forth of this month. All I would like to find out is where to turn to and find out something about this tub...
