Another " Mold or Crystals" Thread

This is an 8 year old tin of Pelican that I jarred up months ago. I didn't notice this till today. I'm going with crystals, but I gotta say I'm not 100% sure this time. What say you all ?

Stand Back, I Think She's Gonna Blow !!!

Poking around in the cellar today I noticed the plastic lid of a tin was off. It's a 1 lb. tin of Pease Odyssey and it's still sealed, but I'm waiting for the Kaboom. I have a second tin that isn't nearly as swollen. Wonder if something nefarious is going on in there.

Smoked Fish And Now A Pipe

Took Friday off to visit one of my favorite high country lakes and was rewarded with some fat rainbows and cutthroats. Kept a couple cutts and smoked them over alder yesterday. Alder smoke and fish are a magic pairing. Some sweet onion, capers and a nice white wine make a simple, but wonderful meal.

    Low Acid Coffee Help

I have GERD and am on omeprazole for life. I can pretty much eat and drink whatever I want except for coffee, which doesn't give me heartburn, but does give me stomach upset. I've tried Life Boost and Lucy Jo's low acid coffees and they don't give me any problems, but the flavor is just...

    Pipe ID Help Please

A friend showed me this pipe today and asked if I could ID it. The only stampings are the number 2 and below that what appear to be two birds. Sorry about the close up photo, it's the best my camera would do. Didn't find anything on Pipe Markings site or Pipedia.

    An Interesting Hesson

A friend gave me this Hesson and I've been trying to do some homework on the brand. The left side says HESSON-JR and the right side says PAT'D DEC 22 '25' 133. What's missing is the typical "WCD" in a triangle. Is this a lower line from WCD?

    Finally, A Blakemar

Been thinking about a Blakemar for quite some time. Chatted with our own simong who owns a dozen or more and he is quite pleased with them. I ordered this prince from their Litchbruyere line and I am quite pleased too! Things didn't start out too well though. I was so eager to break it in that I...

    Ruger LCP vs. Smith Bodyguard

I need a small, light pistol for CC. I have a 1911 and a Walther PPQ M2, both great guns, but not what I want to carry. Anyone have either the Ruger or the Smith, and like or hate them? I don't want to spend big bucks on a Sig 938 or a Kimber, as nice as they are. Also considering the LC9s and...

    Ehrlich's Valuation?

Picked up this Ehrlich's off craigslist and was wondering if anyone had a good idea on worth? It's big, 96 grams and 7 inches long, with the GB stamp-George Bushee. I think the button is beyond saving and have been talking to George Dibos on maybe replacing the stem.

    Two Vintage Ads For misterlowercase

I don't know if these are common ads but I thought I would post them for our Minister of Tobacciana in case he hasn't seen them. They are hanging in my local B&M.

Trade My Pelican For "Yo' Momma"

Well after that bit of unpleasantness I could use a good laugh. So tell me about my momma, as in "Yo' momma is so old, in kindergarten she sat behind Jesus." The one that makes me laugh the hardest gets a tin of Pelican shipped to any of these 50 United States.

    The Solo Gurgle

Sounds odd but let me explain. I have a few pipes that will gurgle after maybe ten minutes. I gently blow back through the stems to clear them and voila, dry the rest of the way, no need for a cleaner. Could this be from the warm smoke condensing in the still cool stem ? Grasping at straws here...

Does P&C Use Stock Photos For Pipes ?

I've been looking all over their site and can't find any info on whether their photos of factory pipes like Sav's are stock photos or of the actual pipe I would receive. Anyone know what their policy is ?

    Low Country Cooper Confusion

I bought a tin of this back in March that was dated from November of 2013. I tried a bowl and thought it was rather odd, so jarred it up and tried again last night. This is supposed to be a medium English and it gets great reviews on TR. My tin seems to be devoid of any Orientals, very little...

    My First Paronelli

When spud pointed out the Paronelli website (one of our sponsors) I found this nice Dublin and decided to give it a go. It has an interesting irregular rustication that waves in different directions. It's 6 inches long with a 13/16" bowl and thin walls, coming in at 26 grams. It has a wide open...
