    Trying Frog Morton

I regularly smoke heavier English blends, but also always have all of the Froggies on hand. I'm particularly fond of the original and the newest one - Cellar. Really top notch tobaccos, blended very well. Enjoy!

How Much do You Guys Smoke a Week?

I smoke one bowl a day and one to two on Saturdays and Sundays.

    Claudio Cavicchi

I have one Claudio Cavicchi that I purchased new and I am a huge fan. Incredible pipes for the money. Incomparable briar and terrific design. Fantastic smokers for sure. Another very similar Italian pipe is Radice. The two makes are quite similar in many ways and comparably priced. You just...

    Going Crazy for Italian Pipes

"Beautiful pipe. Got my interest up and went to smokingpipes.com to see what's available." Careful, that Cavicchi PAD is a powerful thing.

    Going Crazy for Italian Pipes

"Great pipe, Paul. I've been focusing on collecting North American carvers, but the Italian artisans like Claudio Cavicchi are simply amazing. Prices seem to be dropping on Italian artisan pipes, too, so now might be a good time to explore Italy. Their pipes, anyway." bigvan -- I agree, prices...

    Going Crazy for Italian Pipes

I've been smoking a pipe on and off for 40 years. During that time, I have built up only a very modest collection of pipes -- both in number (around 15) and cost (none more than $100 new). Two years ago, I got back into the hobby big time after a few years off. Since starting back in with the...

TAD - Peretti's Cambridge Flake and Oriental No. 40

As a native Massachusetts resident, I'm blessed to be able to get to Peretti's pretty easily. I agree that they blend some of the best blends out there. But beyond that, any pipe smoker would really appreciate a visit there. It's like stepping back in time - really a great place to experience...

Relaxation Time... Whiskey and a Pipe...

All the family just left after a huge Easterr meal and celebration. Wife is puttering, inside, and I'm relaxing in the garage (still a bit cold up here in Massachusetts) with some H&H Magnum Opus in one of my favorite Radice's, and a nice glass of B&B. Happy Easter and God bless to all.

Help me choose a pipe for FM Cellar

I wouldn't consider Frog Morton Cellar an Aromatic at all. I think of it as a light English, with a slight whiskey flavor. With the Latakia, it's not very aromatic. I smoke it in briars that I also use for heavier Latakia lends. Definitely a vey tasty smoke. Good luck.

Pipe Shops And Must See/Do In Boston?

I work in Worcester and go to the Owl Shop regularly -- definitely worth a visit. They have been blending many of their own custom blends for many decades. If you like Balkan Sobranie type blends, their Harkness Tower is really excellent. And I'd second the recommendations here to go to LJ...

Northeast Guys Please Check In When Ya Can - Nemo

I'm in western Massachusetts. We got around 20 inches with really deep snow drifts. Luckily we did not lose power. Spent 2 hours earlier just digging the two cars in the driveway out so that when the guy who plows the driveway comes, he'll be able to see the cars! With the drifts it took me...

    Best McClelland Aro

I very rarely smoke aromatics, but one I do keep on hand is McClelland's Old Church. Very nice.

    Get your Penzance!!

Both Penzance and Stonehaven are in stock right now at Connecticut Valley Tobacconist. But he's charging $58.95 for 8 ounces of Penzance and $59.95 for 8 ounces of Stonehaven. Too steep for my wallet.

$400 to Spend on a Pipe

I would buy two new Radices. To me they are some of the best pipes out there. Two of their $200 pipes would certianly keep me very satisfied for a very long time.

    Recommendations.

Welcome to the forum. I would agree with the suggestions for H&H's Larry's Blend.

Best Looking Radice I Have Seen in a Long Time

That really is a beauty! I have two Radices, but they were boh a bit less expensive - both around $175. They are by far my best smokers. You can't go wrong with a Radice.

    Thinking of Getting a Dog

I have a 170 pound English Mastiff and a 9 pound Boston Terrier. Guess which one makes the better watchdog? You got it. - the Boston. She barks like crazy when anyone comes aroud. But although the Mastiff looks really manacing and her sheer size is very intimidating, the truth Is that she is...
