Thanks, all, for the kind words.

Purpose of more expensive pipe lighters?

I imagine my Zippo collection will be cherished by my son. My Old Boy is going in the casket with me. :puffy: EDITED: spell check is not my friend

    Estate Buy

Nice catch! I'm sure you'll not be disappointed!

    I'm a Papaw Again!

No, that's a pawpaw tree. And their fruit is fondly referred to as the WV banana :puffy:

    Estate Buy

I would recommend Dave Whitney, too. He can be found HERE Very good seller and honest man in my dealings with him and opinion. He has a wide selection and variety in options and prices generally, too.

    I'm a Papaw Again!

Thank you all. My oldest grandson has the bubble pipe (and a few cobbled together estates, too LOL) so I'll be on the lookout for a second one! There truly is nothing like the grandchildren. They really do make all the headaches your children gave you worth it! :) The baby reveal-deal is very...

    I'm a Papaw Again!

My second grandson, Elias Wolf Owsley, came into the world 7/14/16 at 9.2 pounds and 22" long. His middle name is after me; I've always been Wol or Wolfy. Needless to say, I'm pretty proud. This was the first time I got to hold him.

Newly Acquired Estates / One Unsmoked Kaywoodie

A very nice haul! I, too, really like the Jansen and the poker/cherrywood.

My Experience with Xikar Customer Service/Warranty Work

I recently sent my Xikar Pipeline in for repairs: the fill tube was off center, the flint wheel housing had become loose and caused the wheel to jam. Within a few days of them receiving my lighter I got an email saying they had received and repaired my lighter and it was being sent back to me...

Cedar and Antler Tamper My Son Made

He has physically but its mind over matter at this point. He gashed his thumb with a carving knife a couple of Christmas' ago (12 stitches I think) and is "blade-shy" still. Thanks for asking, Fnord.

Steve Laug on Radio Show of June 21, 2016

I'm a little late chiming in but I really enjoyed the interview with Steve. He is an amazing guy in both his career and as a pioneer in teaching folks the art of pipe restoration. As Al and many others I'm sure do, I consider Steve my mentor and, more importantly, my friend. Thanks for shedding...

IM Corona Old Boy Father's Day Gift

Here's what I was referring to about the chrome getting dirty. It's actually kind of hard to get a good photo of the soot but this gives you a good idea anyway.

How often to smoke a pipe?

I think it's highly subjective and personal. I might go 7-10 days without a bowl. Sometimes I might have 3-4 bowls in a day. Depends on my mood and what's happening in my life at the time. I know there are guys that smoke all day, everyday and some who only smoke 1-2 bowls a week. So just enjoy...

    Falcons and such

I have 2-3 stems and around 6 bowls. I really like them. They are great to travel with IMHO (I'm not a flyer so I can't speak to that) as I can pack the bowls and change them out quickly and easily. They also are super easy to clean and smoke really well for me.

Cedar and Antler Tamper My Son Made

Thanks all. If he doesn't sell it I might get to keep it. But I'm not counting my chickens just yet

    Superior Seconds brand.

If you compare the stamping style to known makers you may find your answer. I'd look on http://pipephil.eu/logos/en/index-en.html to start.

Anything Special to Maintain a Clay Pipe?

Thanks, Mike. I was pretty sure not to wax it. The heating in a fireplace/fire pit was something I'd never heard of or would have thought to try.

Anything Special to Maintain a Clay Pipe?

A friend gifted me this clay pipe; it's the first clay pipe I've owned. So far I've smoked it only a half dozen times or so but really like it. My question is this: are there any specific things one should do to maintain a clay pipe? Obviously, alcohol should be used minimally if at all; I get...

    Royal Sovereign

I've had 2 both marked made in Denmark and think from my research they are Comoy sub-brand.
