Anyone like any of the old standbys like Prince Albert, Sir Walter Raleigh, Half n' Half or Captain Black? I took a liking to Captain Black but suppose my favorite will always be Autumn Evening and Lousiana Red.
Did anyone see that stupid program on H2 History channel last night about zombies? They really played it up and I think after watching about 15 minutes of it they were really serious about the reality of those things. I thought it was a joke but one guy kept going on about what he had to survive...
Anyone have any ideas as to what these things are? I see them every year around this time affixed to trees, under the deck where I shot this one late this afternoon. They're about 1 1/2" long. It doesn't look like some sort of bee despite the tail. Look at them eyes. That's no bee's eyes...
Did any of you get the September edition from Pipes and Cigars? There's lots of goodies in the magazine from all sorts of pipes and tobacco...one of the better editions I've seen from them. There's 44 pages before they get into the cigars to mull over.
I don't know why but I always get a charge out of this regardless of the time of year. Maybe you'll get a few yuks also.

I have several pipes that to me are bordering on a need to ream but I don't know at what point that's necessary. It's hard to judge by just looking and say the cake is .005 or .020" thick. What's your method of judging when it's needed?
Guys, for me this about as good as it gets. Pecking away on the computer this is where my buddy usually stays-right on the floor by my feet. I never could get any of my former wives to be like this. Another reason for love of the dog. A real buddy.:)
Any of you fellers into the shooting sports? I bought a Sharps Buffalo Rifle in 45-90 caliber a few weeks back, loaded up some cartridges for it with the 530 gr bullet behind 77 gr of black powder and me and the neighbor next door went to the range last Saturday to shoot. After the second shot...
I started the pipe(for the second time) about this time last year and have tried quite a few bakkers. I haven't run across anything I like better than Autumn Evening although a few have come close.MV-1000 is a close runner up as is Hafling's Leaf but I usually reach for the Autumn Evening...
I don't know...something about this one I like. I think I may get one. I was pleased with the first Nording I bought and this looks like a good, deep bowl so, may try it.

This summer marks the anniversary date of the death of the Queen of Country Music...Kitty Wells. she was 92 years old. A marvelous voice that reminds me of Emmylou Harris but of course, she was before her and in fact was well before even Loretta Lynn. I remember seeing her on TV and hearing her...
I have quite a little story. some may be able to identify and to others I say just beware. The following I would not wish on my worse enemy.
A couple weeks before Christmas my sister died of colon cancer. Long about January and February I started more and more thinking about myself and how I had...
Anyone into vinyl records these days? I got back into yet another old hobby and decided to get a new turntable. My old Yamaha is still doing pretty good after a recent belt change but wanted a direct drive turntable and I new Technics were some of the best back in the day. This is the new to me...
I received an email from ebay today that I need to get "verified" because according to them, I've almost hit my initial limit. I think that's a crock. What do they care a long as you're using a credit card and pay for goods. Totally stupid and I don intend on giving them my bank account number...
Why would anyone want one these days? I don't know-but, I've been looking at a couple that are pristine. I always wanted one in my Army days like the Teac or Akia but couldn't afford them back then. They had the best sound available then and played forever. I don't know that you can even find...
I'm getting a real charge from these old radios. I acquired one the other day I actually didn't need to do a thing to but plug in and enjoy. I only had a few like that. Most require a little or extensive work. I hooked my transmitter into my CD player, put in some Tommy Dorsey and listened to it...
I've been looking at the Nording Hunter Series for the past six months and wondered what you all thought of the Elk. I like the looks and style and assume it would be a great smoker as well. Anyone have one and your comments about it? This one is sold out but I've found another possible source...
Guys this has been a life changing past six weeks. A couple weeks before Christmas I lost my sister as I mentioned earlier in another thread. Then, I had all the technicalities of organizing her funeral and later I'll have to deal with selling her house she left me. Part of life I suppose...
