How Does Freezing Weather Affect Tobacco

I also leave tobacco in my truck with no ill affects. But wildly swinging temperatures will play hell on your pipe, especially the bit to tang connection on a brier.

    Sound Off, Lurkers!

I try to keep caught up with what's going on, but find it had to take time to read every day. Hope everyone is well!

Is it even possible to not get any tongue bite at all?

My take on it is that pipe smoking is about like anything else that you do just once in a while, or all the time. Take playing a stringed instrument for example. While learning to play the guitar, you have to build-up callus material on the tips of your fingers. Until you do, your fingers are...

    Savinelli's Doblone d 'Oro

Jiminks, it must have been your review I read this morning on smokingpipes.com I think. I did some other research as to other comments when the tobacco wasn't finalized yet, they were still playing with the blend. I'm really looking forward to trying it. Thanks.

    Savinelli's Doblone d 'Oro

I have been absent for some time, but came over to see if there was any discussion about Doblone d'Oro yet. None yet I see, but there will be soon. No, I haven't had any yet either, but I just ordered 5 tins....

If you had to choose only one blender - or blends from one company?

I don't usually comment on hypothetical situation questions but this one kinda hit a nerve. It would have to be Dunhill. Not because Dunhill is the best or most known... But because I couldn't do without my morning tobacco. I could smoke it all day if it was all I could get. I buy tins by the...

Which Do You Prefer? Salt Or Cotton Balls For Bowl Cleaning?

I've always just used Everclear, pipe cleaners and Q-tips.... Everyone has their own method, but that works for me

Clay Pipes - A worthy investment?

I use a clay whenever I'm at the fish or deer camp. Best way to lite it is to pick a coal off the fire and put it in your pipe....

    Fast coloring Battal

Sajgre, that pipe is taking on a wonderful color! Some of the master carvers "do" sign their non-figural pipes, Emin is one of them. The two larger pipes here are Emin pipes and are signed... Baki is another... the second photo.

    Can't Find any Five Brothers

Good 'Backie... I smoke Five Brothers outside in a cob or brier when I'm busy and not really paying attention. My go-to tobacco when I'll have tools in my hands...

How Many Bowls is Too Much for a Pipe Everyday?

If I'm out for the day I may smoke 3 -5 bowls in a brier. Clean real well and rest for a week or more....

    Rim charring

I never use a lighter unless I'm on the lake and smoking a brier or cob that I'm not all that concerned with. I use matches indoors, so your drawing the flame to the tobacco, not torching your pipe. Over time your gonna get rim burn regardless, so learn how to deal with it. I have a little...
