Semi technical question on a mildly rusticated pipe and white diamond
I like a brush also but don't use a wire brush anymore. Bought several small rotary brushes,supposed to be horse hair. Great for cleaning rusticated and sandblasted pipes and even for buffing after applying Halcyon II or similar wax. They are small and it can be tricky to use them on some bent...- ejames

Yes,you are correct,it is a WW2 era Mt. Laurel pipe. Many were hand painted ( I believe) with a tinted lacquer to give the appearance of grain as MT. Laurel usually doesn't show nice grain. These are seen in several configurations,they can be push stems with either plastic or aluminum... -

Can't tell you much about the Everyman pipes but I do like that shape. A friend sent an identical pipe to me 3-4 years ago and I converted it from a push style stem to a screw stem using Grabow Ajustomatic parts.- ejames

I cannot get a grabow Omega unclogged!
Take a good look at that photo I posted and you'll see how your pipe is drilled. It can be quite tricky to get a pipe cleaner through the airway of the bowl. You may just be hitting the bottom of the well. Sometimes ( on any pipe that is clogged) it may help to run a pipe cleaner through from...- ejames

Like the Monk said,lots of room in the shank of an Omega. Also the airway drilling is at a different angle than the mortise. The Omega's are drilled a lot like the Peterson system pipes,they have a small "well" at the bottom of the mortise.Remove the stem and use Q-tips to clean the "well" and...- ejames

Stem bleaching question.
Before you bleach stems wipe them down with alcohol to clean off any waxes or oils left from handling. I use a fairly large container and suspend the stem in the bleach using a pipe cleaner.
