    My Stems Don't Fit.

@fnord - thanks for the beeswax. I tried it, and it works famously.

    My Stems Don't Fit.

clickklick - I bent my own lucite stem once without the heat gun a pipe maker would instruct you to use, and it was a precarious process so I know what you're talking about. Fnord - that sounds like a solution, particularly if you know a Beewrangler. So you coat the tenon whenever it gets loose...

    My Stems Don't Fit.

This candle method was easy enough to give a little try, and it worked to varying degrees with all my vulcanite stemmed pipes and solved the problem. I hesitate to use the same method with lucite though.

    My Stems Don't Fit.

That example pipe is a very shiny black and I almost would have thought it was just black lucite except that he started referring to vulcanite after the demonstration there. I'd be interested to know if I'd have to be more careful with lucite in this method.

    My Stems Don't Fit.

Wow, in a half hour, I've got nigh unto half a dozen things to try. That's awesome, thank you all.

    My Stems Don't Fit.

Long time no see, fellow puffers. I've been storing my briars in the garage and it's been a pretty cold California winter, plenty of days down in the 30s and 40s. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but nearly all my briar pipes, lucite and vulcanite stems it doesn't seem to make...

    Long Time No Me

Yep, northern California is my backyard. I spent a night in the hospital with chest pain. Spending a night being monitored while under the influence of nitroglycerin (believe me, the stuff is awful) made me promptly put down the pipe, change my diet and start going to the gym more. BUT none of...

    Long Time No Me

How's it going all, I put down my pipe due to health concerns back in February but I wanted to drop by and say Happy 4th. Shoot a rocket or two for me, tilt something intoxicating, and have a good time.

Is It Hot Where You Are?

It is hot where I am, yes. It's been triple digits all week.

    So What Are You Drinking

This thread persists, doesn't it ... I'm drinking Bud Light Lime, good old American macro-brew for the 4th of July

Who Else Likes to Watch There Tobacco Travel Across the States?

It's encourages you to think it probably won't get lost in the mail, eh? Whenever I can't track a shipment of anything I've already paid for, there's always that little bit of uncertainty about whether it'll make it.

Can Someone Tell Me About These Pipes?

The only one I'm not sure about is the bottom one. The top three are briar, Medico has been mass producing them for a long time. the shiny red Medico Guardsman is made of a material called Brylar. And that bottom one perplexes me, it's cut in a cob shape, but it's no cob and it doesn't look...

Heard an Interesting Stat at the Pipe Club Meeting but I Don't Know If I Believe

zonomo, if you haven't tried SPC Plum Pudding, try it. It's better than Mississippi River. It's a strange stat, because I've found that aromatics aren't always easier on the palette, for all their effort to do so.

Why do Most of Us Want New Pipes/Tobacco at the WORST Possible Time?

I think the main reason is that we keep seeing incredible briar creations by the makers out there. Awesome labors of love that we wish we could afford.

    The Big Game.

My niners blew it! I stopped watching after the second half kick off return for TD by the Ravens. Then I happen back by the TV and it's 29-34 and it got me all excited. Ah well, it was a close one.

    RIP Chris Kyle

The guy who shot him was a marine, too. Terrible shame. Sure sounds like this guy lived a life full of adventure, though, it's hard to feel sorry for him. His family, though, that's a different story.
