This isn't my design, I just ran across it on Thingiverse. 3-D printed organizer for 50g round tins. The design incorporates a recess in the bottom to glue in a magnet if you wish to keep the tray attached to the tin. I haven't printed one yet but will give it a try. Link to the Thingiverse...

    Those Little Surprises

It's been a while but today I found some "bonus" material in my tobacco. The odd thing was it was in the middle of a twist. 6 year old Gawith & Hoggarth Sweet Coconut Twist to be precise. I was preparing the tobacco, the very last piece of the 4 oz I'd bought years ago, and found a half...

    Cellar Fail

Went to select my next tobacco and grabbed a 2018 tin of Red Rapparee. Despite being a round tin and only 4 years in the cellar the seal had either failed or it had never been well sealed at the factory. Booooone dry. Just goes to show that even the "good" tins can have problems.

IM Corona Old Boy Repair - 2022

My almost 20 year old Old Boy had been dropped onto concrete several times, the seals were aged, the spring clip had broken, and it just plain has a LOT of miles it. I cleaned it occasionally and used only high quality butane but clearly it needed some more serious attention. I sent my old...

    Those Awful Milliseconds...

    R.I.P. P.J. O’ Rourke

In Praise Of Water Rinsing a Briar Pipe

Yesterday I had the worst tasting smoke I can remember. I switched pipes and had a pleasant smoke so I knew my palate wasn’t messed up. (After dumping the first pipe I drew some air through it. Yep, it was the pipe. WTH, it was fine a few days ago?) My normal routine is pipe cleaners during...
