    Show us your Genods.

This very large and beautifully-grained Genod was carved by Jacky Craens, probably in the 1990's. I won it on eBay, for a song. It has some of the most beautiful grain I've ever seen. And, it's big . . . 2-1/2" bowl . . . and an excellent smoker.

    GLP Charring Cross to trade

Seven or eight years ago I tried Charing Cross, liked it, and bought a few tins. Now, I'm much more into Virginias and VaPers and would like to trade a sealed 8-oz. tin of Charring Cross for a like quantity of Virginia (multiple 2 oz. tins would be fine). One I tried recently and like a lot is...

    Change in Peterson's nomenclature?

Peterson's now has a sandblasted line they are calling Rustico. Has this replaced Kapruf?

    The Peterson P logo

Some of the stems on my Peterson’s have a “P” and some do not. This is true of both pre-Republic and Republic pipes. Is the application or omission of the “P” a decision or an oversight? If a decision, on what is it based?

    Celius stems

I've been collecting Celius for a few years now and especially like shape 12, a half- to three-quarter bent slender Dublin. I have examples of shape 12 in the top four grades, lacking only a Pawn (sandblast) to complete the set (I'm waiting to find one as nice as the one that I was too cheap to...

    Latakia Surprise

Re Greg Pease's article on changes in tobacco tastes: Sam Atalah, the owner of Cigar Empire in Santa Barbara, CA, where our club meets, is from a town near Latakia, Syria. He told me that Latakia is pronounced La-TAH-kee-a, not La-ta-KEE-ah as we've been calling it for all these years! Wow...
