    Show us your Genods.

This very large and beautifully-grained Genod was carved by Jacky Craens, probably in the 1990's. I won it on eBay, for a song. It has some of the most beautiful grain I've ever seen. And, it's big . . . 2-1/2" bowl . . . and an excellent smoker.

    Show Us Your Pipe Cabinet

My pipe cabinet used to be my mother's china cabinet. Here it is with most of my collection: 25+ Connoisseurs, Petersons, Mastro de Pajas, and a slew of others.

    Show us Your Best Smoker

Here's a few of my pipes that consistently give me easy, satisfying smokes. At the top is a Peterson's 9BC Sterling; a real winner. In the middle is a Connoisseur "Original" that I got free from Nikos Levin . . . free because there is a hairline crack in the rim. That was twenty years ago and...

Do You have a Pipe You can’t Bring Yourself to Smoke?

I inherited this patent Dunhill Shell poker from my wife's uncle . . . bowl only. It was in rough shape. I sent it to George Debos who made a period-accurate stem and restored the bowl to perfection. A few chips were repaired and fit in invisibly with the blast. George made twenty a...

    Dogs & Pipes

My puppy has chewed up my cell phone, the remote to the TV, and a pair of my glasses. I don't let him anywhere near my pipes.

    GLP Charring Cross to trade

Seven or eight years ago I tried Charing Cross, liked it, and bought a few tins. Now, I'm much more into Virginias and VaPers and would like to trade a sealed 8-oz. tin of Charring Cross for a like quantity of Virginia (multiple 2 oz. tins would be fine). One I tried recently and like a lot is...

Why do Sellers Avoid Pics of the Chamber?

It's tricky to get a good, meaningful shot. Lighting and focus being the issues.

How Long Have You Smoked a Pipe?

When I was 17 I bought a Kaywoodie and some Cherry Blend . . . lit up in my room. My Mom walked by, saw me, and said nothing. That evening she told me that she and my father had discussed it and decided that, if it would keep me from smoking cigarettes, they would not object to my pipe smoking...
