    Cheer For Ye Olde Signe

Ye Olde Signe is one of my favourite blends. I have always wondered what makes this blend's Virginias so different to any other Virginia tobaccos. The flavors are very unique and I do not get any tongue bite from YOS, which is quite unique feature for me. By the way, I have the impression...

    Dunhill Meerschaum (Man With Beard)?

My guess is, that it has to do with the cover of Alfred Dunhill's book:

What Do You Smoke Out of Your Biggest Bowl?

I have a little selection of maybe group 5 and 6 pipes which are mainly used for rather dry burley blends like OJK or Semois. Those blends are fast burning and therefore preferably consumed in a larger chamber.

How Long Does It Take You to Smoke Through a Tin?

I sometimes smoke one blend exclusively for a longer time. At 1 to 2 bowls a day a 50g tin lasts 10 to 14 days.

    What Cigar are You Smoking?

Thanks for your thoughts! This was my first Reyes and it definitely was outstanding - also compared to the other Trinidad vitolas that I had. So I will stick to the Reyes now!

    What Cigar are You Smoking?

Sorry, I cannot tell, but it must be recent production. I just bought a single one.

    Another Question

Personally I don’t use this method. But I suppose metal buttons are the ones to use. @condorlover1 recommends drilled silver coins, too.

    Another Question

It is literally a button, I guess. Like the ones on a shirt. Inserted in a pipe, this will result in a kind of “filter” to let air and smoke pass but no ashes. It shall result in a faster colouring of the pipe.

    Another Question

I suppose that is exactly why the button is inserted. It shall prevent ashes and tobacco to reabsorb the moisture and let the pipe itself absorb it instead.

Five Brothers in a Castello is my evening smoke.
