Pipe and Tobacco Shop in Miami?

Thanks for the info. No wonder I've never been able to find a pipe shop in Miami. Thankfully I did bring my own tobacco.

    Pipe making kits ?

I only use pipe kits because I don't have the means or skill to drill my own holes. First three were throwaways since I messed up quit a bit. I've bought from a few places and so far, Tinsky is the best I've seen. Other places, the draft holes drilled through and nicked the other end of the...

Pipe and Tobacco Shop in Miami?

Hello (presumably) ladies and gentlemen. Anyone know of a pipe and tobacco shop in the Miami area? There are cigar shops a plenty, but in my frequent travels out there, I've yet to locate something dedicated to pipes. I thought I'd ping these forums and see what comes up. Thanks fellers......

    Re-moisture dried out tobacco

I've tried this a few times -- I'll put the tobacco in a bowl, put a wet paper towel (distilled water) over the bowl and rubber band it down, (make sure the towel isn't dripping) so it's tight like a drum. Then I'll shake the bowl, leave it for an hour.

    Carving a Dragon

eduardovieira, I'm blown away. The whole thing, the making of the pipe and the video. I'm curious, how would you measure the enjoyment and difficulty in making the stem? Is it as fun as carving the pipe? Is it a pain or once you've done it enough times it's pretty easy? It seems like...

Best Pipe Shop In Your Area

I'm envious of you guys who live near actual pipe tobacco shops. Los Angeles, there's nothing. I think the last true pipe shop closed down a while back. When I was a kid, we had The Tinder Box at the Del Amo mall, and this awesome pipe shop at Port's O'Call, a little sea side village. There...

    Lakeland

I enjoy Ennerdale and Bob's Chocolate Flake, but the Bob's Chocolate is pretty subtle so far. It's still new to me. I've got some Kendal flake and some Dark flake I haven't tried yet. I'm wondering if I need a different pipe for each one or if they can just ghost the same pipe. Maybe that...

Do You Prefer A Collection of More Classical Or Unique Pipes?

I tend to like more traditional shapes but the artsy, "thinking outside the box" stuff is growing on me. I like a lot of the freehand stuff. But in thinking about the idea of the pipe as just a tool, there's always some aesthetic quality that moves the pipe beyond functionality into something...

What Book Are you Reading? - 2019

The Odyssey -- Decided I need to familiarize or re familiarize myself with the classics. I'm doing the Cliff notes on this one because I want the breakdown of the story, characters, and themes, without all the readin' and stuff. Maybe I'll revisit the actual text to get a glimpse of the art of...

    Need Help with Kiseru

My mom is an antique junkie and frequently shows up with various tobacco/pipe/cigar related antiques for me. (Thanks Ma, it's pretty thoughtful she does that, and I appreciate it) Among them, 3 kiserus. And all this time, I thought they were used to smoke that which is referenced in the Rush...

Which Tobacco You Don't Have Is At The Top Of Your "MUST TRY NEXT" Want List ?

Thanks for the info Panhandler. I was looking at tobacco reviews and Boswell has something called "Railroad Station" which, the name alone is awesome. So the sampler is probably a good way to go.

Seems like Black Frigate is popular so I'm curious. And I saw folks talking about Boswell Northwoods.

    Oh-Oh, the Retrohale

If you make a pretend snoring sound, mouth closed, the position of everything in your mouth is where is should be for a retrohale. You could also try making the "K" sound and pay attention to where your tongue is, it's kind of like that....I think.
