Haunted Bookshop VS Old Joe Krantz... Again.

Cool idea! I like both blends, so I might mix up a little, something on the scale that mso suggested.

How Much Peat for Your Scotch?

Depends on the weather for me. I like the heavier peat scotches in winter.

    Please Help, Very Frustrated

I agree with what the others have said about Carter Hall and Prince Albert. Those are very forgiving blends, as far as packing goes, and they really helped me out, because I always had issues packing too tight. I also agree about not over thinking packing. Just keep trying different things until...

    Corn Cob Love

I have 9 cobs and I love them! They are what I smoke at work. They seem to absorb moisture a little better than briars, so I can just carry around a cob and some tobacco without having to worry about pipe cleaners. And if I happen to break one I'm only out a few bucks.

Best place to order pipe tobacco

I pretty much do the same as what the others are saying. I tend to order from smokingpipes the most, with P&C being a close second.

Congrats carolina! That's what I call a good day! And a stout C&D blend in a cob is a truly wonderful thing!

    Howdy from NC!

Thanks for the tip MSO! I've heard about their tobaccos for a while now, but I didn't know they were a NC company. I'll definitely check them out.

    Castello's Golden Era

I don't really know a whole lot about the different eras of Castello, but I know that every one that I own is wonderful, and I really don't think that you can go wrong with their pipes. In fact, I'm smoking one right now! Happy hunting!

Are C&D Bulks Not As Good?

I'm a huge fan of their tobaccos, and since Bayou Morning is one of the blends you mentioned, I smoke that pretty much constantly and can't recommend it enough. I actually really like the "rough edges" or harshness in some of their blends, because like the OP, I really like strong potent...

    Everyday no brainer smoke

Bayou Morning. It's pretty much my standard and I only smoke other tobaccos when I feel like a change of pace.
