    2023 Awards

There have been a lot of list threads on the forums recently, why not make it one more? As 2023 comes to a close, what personal awards would you like to give out in your year in review? Ex: New to Me Blend of the Year, Pipe Acquisition of the Year, Tobacco Release of the Year, etc. Feel free...

    Roasting Your Own Beans

I recently was given a few green coffee beans and did a simple roast -- no special equipment. I thought it was a lot of fun though and wanted to see if anybody else on the forums there is roasting their own coffee? Any tips would be appreciated, especially where you like to get your beans

    Wessex Pipes

Are they still in production? Having a hard time finding where they’re sold. If anybody could point me in the right direction, would appreciate it.

    Question About Sunday Fantasy

A friend who knew I was into pipes was asking me if I knew anything about Sunday Fantasy cigarets. He had some nostalgia attached to them and was curious about knowing more about them. I didn't know anything but was curious what the forum could tell me. I saw they had a pipe tobacco label, but...

    Vulcanite Question

Sanding my morning away, I started to wonder if the inside of a vulcanite stem oxidizes. Moreso, how badly? For those of you who have worked on neglected estates, what's the best way to remove oxidization within the stem? All best

    Blending with Semois

What's your favorite thing to mix with Semois? I have a bit of La Brumeuse that I'm thinking of adding just a pinch of happy brown bogie to, or maybe Kendal Kentucky.

D&R Blends - Picayune and Rimboche AB

Missed the boat on these and never tried them. At my rate of smoking, I'm only looking for 1 or 2 tins of each. If anybody has a beat on where they can still be found, I'd love a message. I won't buy out all your b&m's stock :)

    Aged Tins and Planes

I've got some twenty year old tins I'm wanting to open on vacation. I probably won't finish them over the duration of the trip. Will anything weird happen to open aged tins if I brought them back on the plane with me? I don't know about science, but I want to check before anything weird happens.

    Gawith, Hoggarth Englishes

When I first discovered Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. I jumped in hard on dark flake, birdseye, plug, ropes, etc. Not so much on the more aromatic or English offerings. I've had their Scotch Mixture, but I was wondering, do they make any English mixtures that have punch? In my head I'm looking for...

    Oxidized Stem

Recently I received an older Savinelli. The stem is very oxidized--way worse than I've ever let any of my pipes get, way more than I've ever dealt with before. Pipe's in great shape otherwise, but I'm curious what works for you all? Thanks, guys.

    Order from Germany

All the German tobacco I've tried has impressed me, and the recent discussion on HU tobaccos now have me thinking about making an order with pfeifendepot. If anyone has anything they'd recommend that I can't get through US distributors, please let me know. Here or PM if you want to keep it a...

Check's in the Mail, I Love You, and "Air-Tight Seal"

3 most common lies, my friends. Recently acquired some bulk tobacco from one of the big sellers. One arrived in a baggie that wasn't zipped all the way and the edges of the flakes were looking worse for the wear. I was out of jars and ran to the nearest store. Bought some knock off air tight...

    German Houses

What are some of your favorite German-produced blends? What would be in your currently-produced-in-Germany Hall of Fame? K&K blends, Dan Tobac, etc... What has impressed you of late? I've been pretty into everything I've tried, though all you folks have made a lot of it hard to come by

A question on the Royal Yacht

Considering I don't think I've ever had another plum-topped Virginia, how unique is the Yacht?

    A Pipesmoker's Either-Or

I was loading up an old pipe with dark plug and I stumbled onto an old receipt for a pipe and some tobacco. The tobacco is long gone now and some is no longer in production. The pipe was the one I was about to smoke. I'm curious - just for fun, is there any blend you would trade your favorite...

Greetings and a Matter of Opinion

Before my grandfather passed, he managed to burn down his house and up with it any heirloom and photograph that might be left to his children. Years later, my father returned to the wreckage and recovered my grandfather's old pipe. We began our pipe smoking journey there. Hi, guys. I've been a...
