    1918 BBB Army Mount Pipe

I've a BBB Own Make from 1899 that I acquired in Germany. I regularly smoke it. Nice little pipe and I enjoy contemplating its history while I use it. Usually outside on walks with the dogs.

    American Coin Currency Query.

Many of the following are seldom encountered dollar coins in a presidential series as well as commemorative coins. Here you go, from Wikipedia: List of presidents of the United States on currency

    Hug Your Little Ones

I'll for sure hug my little ones an extra time. A few years back a very young child friend shared with me that his brother had died by suicide. In our conversation I suggested that this was likely from depression that wasn't successfully treated. I also admitted that I really didn't know. In...

How Many Tins Of Flakes Do You Considered Cellared In Your Collection.

Not mentioned yet are: Meistermischung 88/Kohlhase, Kopp und Co. KG 88 and Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake. Both of these are straight Virginia flakes that should age well. Also, I've SG Full Virginia plug rather than flake cellared as well as the private release SG FVP by Pfeifen Huber...

    Pandemic Closes K&W Southern Cafeteria

Saw a thread about TAK/Motzek. Thought I'd dip my toes in again. Now I see this thread. Idiots complaining about face masks and the like. Gosh, this forum is crap. And that dude who argued in favor of molesting underage girls is still here FFS.

Motzek - Tom's Twists (Sweet Crushed, Hallo, and Dark)

I've been living in Germany for several years. Tabak aus Kiel certainly produces tobacco that I enjoy. Of the the ones you listed I've enjoyed Hallo Twist. One thing I noticed right off is the fermented fruit taste. Herbst 84 is one I like a lot in Autumn and 16/5 Der Neue is similar to HU...

    1 Grabow for 1 Year (8/2/19)

Well done! Goes to show, pipe smoking is as complicated or simple, as cheap or expensive, as we chose to make it.

What Are Some Disqualified Pipe Brands For You?

New Peterson pipes. Quality control being the primary reason. I also think there are much better pipes for the price nowadays. I've Irish ancestry but that doesn't mean I need to buy pipes from Ireland.

    Hangover.

In my mid 40s I can confirm that hangovers are worse now than they used to be. Nowadays I limit my drinking because I know I'll need to pay the price tomorrow. Hangovers happen even when I don't feel tipsy or dunk. A hangover isn't nice for me and it is unfair to my family (young children...

    First Barling Pipe

That is a nice pipe (I'm fond of pot shaped pipes) and extraordinary collection of poetry. I think it is time for me to revisit the Sabbath Poems. Thanks for the reminder!

Who In History Would You Most Like To Share A Bowl With?

Leonardo (the one from Vinci), Abraham Lincoln, Alexander von Humbolt, Benjamin Franklin, really any of the great polymaths. Oh, and also Ötzi the iceman. Probably none of these smoked a pipe. So Bertrand Russell.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2020?***

It was a marvelous morning to enjoy HU Director's Cut in a Stanwell 234 oval shank billiard while walking the doggies. No wind at all, utterly clear skies, and the frost quickly disappeared as the sun hit it. Among other observations was the first barn swallow of the year.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2020?***

Got out today to enjoy a pipe of Herbst 84 in a Savinelli bent bulldog while walking the doggies. It fit the colder weather and my need to get my grumpiness sorted out before getting back to being cheerful with my family in Covid-19 lockdown.

    Mayor Versus Governor.

We started as a country with strong state autonomy but the American Civil War really changed that. I think we are still sorting this out. Here is a quote from historian James M. McPherson: The United States went to war in 1861 to preserve the Union; it emerged from the war in 1865 having...
