The (Un)Official PipesMagazine Secret Santa Thread 2022!

Looks like USPS in Texas doesn't mess around and my package made it safely in less than a day! My santa gifted me more than I could ask for - plenty of good tobacco and a note that made it all the better. I'm enjoying the molto dolce as I type this (and I'm not sure why any one gives it grief...

The (Un)Official PipesMagazine Secret Santa Thread 2022!

Had a gift in my parcel locker that I needed a crane to unload! Haven't opened it, may try to wait until I at least send mine out which aiming for this weekend! Looks like it may be a little more than a couple tins :) and rattles like it might be a trap!

    Pipestud Website Issues?

I have had issues too trying to access this morning at 10 and last week sometime. By the time it did work, all the good tobacco was sold out...so maybe it's my firewall telling me to keep my money.

What Cigar are You Smoking? - 2022

I too had pizza tonight! From a local place in Columbus, TX (Joe's) and it was fantastic! Smoking a Fiat Lux waiting for the 'Stros to start. So far a great smoke!

    New Seattle Pipe Club Blend.

But Mark - have any of them been made in the last year? C&D has some old faithfuls (Opening Night being my go-to) but the new release of a lot of your go-to's don't taste the same as they did a few years back (ie SG and Wessex).

    New Seattle Pipe Club Blend.

Is it limited of like Hogshead will keep coming back until the leaf is gone? Hogshead is delicious and worth the money. One of my favorite tobaccos I'll never have again was the 10yr 4th Generation with Gawith....expensive but hindsite worth every penny. Only had one though.

    Happy Fishnbanjo Day VI

Thanks Jaytex - always good to remember those who have done great things in the world - and shown so much kindness to others as Sante did. I was able to pick up Sante's Rick Manges brandy apple clencher, light in the jaw and plenty of space to pack good tobacco. Enjoying some Mc 40th that I...

Jim's Watch City Simply Orange Virginia Review.

I’m smoking my first bowl - very good quality and tasty tobacco. Does anyone get a similar vibe as Dunbar, sans the apricot topping? I taste me almost incense like sandlewood (ish). I probably should have dried it out longer, but looking forward to the next bowl!

    Savinelli Doblone d'Oro

@gamzultovah - mind me asking who made that pipe? Beautiful pipe! And to stay on topic I smoke Doblone doro in a meet with coffee - really brings out the flavors of the tobacco. Not sure if it is pre 2018 or after, will need the check. Still a great smoke but will ghost the pipe.

    Opening an Aged Tin

This thread caused me to open a tin of 5 yr old embarcadero. Smoking it now and the oriental is hard to find right out of the tin - the tin note is amazing though. If I remember I'll report back after letting it breath for a couple of days.

    Must try G.L. Pease?

I didn't see Embarcadero on the lists above...to my taste it is better than Cairo. Union Square with some age is great. And Fillmore is fantastic if you wait 3 years (otherwise it is good, but not great).
