Hello,
I was wondering if anyone on the forum is familiar with the current production 7oz. tins of 3-Star Blue tobacco from Iwan Ries? How is the tobacco packaged inside? Is it in a plastic bag? Are the tins the cardboard tube style with just a metal top and bottom?
I'm really curious how...
I recently visited California and was chatting with the lady that owns a local pipe shop there and she said in some cities there you can be pulled over and ticketed by the police for just smoking in your car while driving on the road if you pass by a building that is within the 50 or 100 feet or...
OK good, thanks for the input. I just wanted to check with those more experienced than I to see if I should leave them be or contact the seller to arrange for an exchange.
This can't be normal can it? I have two tins of GL Pease "Gaslight" that I bought last summer sometime. All of my tins are stored out of light in filing cabinet drawers in my normal room temperature home. These two tins are swelled up both top and bottom and look like they are going to...
I've had the same experience. It's like that with any hobby really. There is always some "unicorn" that people are chasing because of it's rarity but when you finally get ahold of it, it's a big let down. I went through this just last weekend with bourbon. I was fascinated by the single...
I've had this same thing happen before too but I always thought it was due to the pipe being cold. It was always pipes that I had not smoked in a few months. I always just smoked them again and everything tightened back up like it never happened.
That's why I like buying high end estate pipes. That way, I won't feel guilty about smoking it. In the past, I have owned Dunhill Christmas pipes and other such commerative or special edition types and I never smoked those. I just liked having them for some reason even though I did not put...
I have a variety of pipes in my collection but, by far, I prefer Dunhill. I have a lot of Dunhill pipes and I also have all the Dunhill accessories such as lighters, pouches, tampers, etc. I just love their stuff, I'm not sure why.
Hello,
I was lucky enough to score an 8oz bag of Penzance and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the long term storage of these bags? I really don't want to open it and jar it if I don't have to.
Thanks,
Frank

Paul is who taught me how to smoke a pipe back in the early 90's while I was attending college at University of Michigan Flint campus. I love that place too and it has not changed much in the last 20 some odd years. To get to the next closest pipe shop of this caliber, I have to drive to...
It wasn't a specific year of Christmas Cheer I was trying to match but rather the style (flake Virginia) with similar flavor. I think I'll give the McCranies red flake a try next. Thanks!
