    Sipping your Tobacco?

That describes my approach pretty well. I don't try for any "slow smoke contest."

Studies on Pipe and Cigar smokers - Inconsistent!?

Mark Twain famously said that there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Never smoked cigarettes but have smoked pipes for almost 50 years and smoked them often. Thus far, no notable health effects Kind of reminds me of my great aunt who, when she was 91, said she just gave up cigarettes...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

The HB came in today. So, put away the latakia blend for the foreseeable future and fired up the HB. It's no OJK, but it is a serviceable burley-perique blend and an adequate OJK substitute as the perique in it is more notable than I recalled.

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Been smoking a latakia mixture the last few months due only to having my every 6 months desire for it combined with recent chronic non-stocking of my favorite burley blend, OJK. As expected, my desire for latakia is about to peeter out and still no OJK in stock. So wanting a burley blend, picked...

    Shamrocks & Shenanigans 2024

Got a bit of the Irish in our tree as my dad's line spent some 150 years in county Antrim prior to heading to North America. Can also relate to the bagpipe part as well as we'd been living in Scotland before Antrim.

    Alligator

Had it as well as frog legs, escargot, and conch. Only 1 I didn't care for was conch as it was too tough. Also love Rocky Mountain oysters.

    Shamrocks & Shenanigans 2024

I can only guess that the association of bagpipes or kilts with Ireland may be due to the influence of Ulster Scots-the formerly Scottish folks that immigrated to what is now Northern Ireland some 350 years ago. The origin if St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the US came at the hands of several...

    30 Minutes or it's Free

We seldom order pizza. Recently ordered from our local Pizza Hut who said it would be there in 45 minutes. An hour and a half later, no pizza. I was fuming and decided I'd drive the whole 10 blocks there and demand $ back. Just as I was about to head out the back door to do that, they showed up...

    Reamer For Bottom Of Bowl

I thank everyone for their ideas. Have long had a senior reamer, but it doesn't do a great job on the bottom of bowls. So, too, the buttner which I have. Whatever Briarville uses, does a heck of a job. Just got back 4 he reamed and sent 4 others out before that. Of course, I think he drilled out...

    Reamer For Bottom Of Bowl

Is a knife reamer the way to go to ream the bottom of pipe bowls or is another type of reamer the best?

    Tired of Crooks

    No idea.

    Tired of Crooks

So, yesterday my bank's fraud alert system notified me that someone was attemtping to use my debit card # to purchase $170 of Lifelock protection. Second time in the last 6 months I've had to replace my debit card. Am somewhat amused, though, at the irony that someone pretending to be me was...

    Peterson Silver Spigots Update?

The bottom one looks OK to me. I have an original Darwin standard which, of course, has a very beefy bowl while its stem is somewhat short and delicate looking. I find the contrast in that case attractive.

    Peterson Pub Pipe

Interesting, Mine smokes dry as dust. :)

    What's For Dinner?

Taken a liking to Indian food in the past year. Hadn't really tried it before. No Indian restaurants within a few hundred miles of me of that. So, rely on the freezer selection of my local Walmart. They carry a couple of brands which are quite good. Had curry chicken tonight. Also fond of butter...

    What's For Dinner?

More of a cottage pie sort-don't like lamb. They're too cute to eat anyway. ;)

Any Fans of the Jobey Stromboli Pipes?

I've got a bent billiard that's a fine smoker and in my regular rotation. I like its style of rustication. Magma-like is right.

    Nationwide ATT Cellular Outage

My wife has a cell phone, while I don't. We still have our landline. Seems this is a good example of why having a landline may be a good idea. Of course, due to some weird wiring issues in our home which would be too expensive to fix, our landline works through our internet connection-which is...

    Delusional Burly

I would agree, but almost impossible to find it in stock recently. 1 of the factors in why, when I recently ordered, thought it was time for a latakia blend to go along with the Bayou Morning I bought since I couldn't find OJK at a price I was willing to pay.

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

I thought it looked more like a pub pipe. Good price on it. If I didn't already have 2 D18 shapes, may have gone for it.
