Anyone Smoking a Kirsten Pipe as Their go to Pipe?

I not only admit to owning Kirstens, I have smoked them exclusively since 1983. There are a variety of reasons I do so. I don't like a pipe that bites and I don't like a pipe that burns hot. Kirstens do neither. Their primary advantage is the cooling effect on the tobacco smoke moving...

Not sure which forum this belongs in-- Kirsten may be forced out of business

There are two sides to every story. To begin with, I have smoked Kirstens exclusively since 1983 when I bought one from Stacy’s father at Fisherman’s Terminal in Seattle. I presently own over 30, all quarter bent or full bent pipes all of which are second and third generation Kirstens, all...

Whoops. What I said about the dating of the pipe is correct but I didn't consider the pipe might be a medium size. If it is, t probably has a model letter C for Cavalier. These were made from 1958 on. There was no predecessor medium quarter bent that I am aware of.

Dating the pipe should not be a big problem. If the model number on the base is a T it is a Tyrolean and therefore was made between 1959 and 1985. If the model number is an R it is a Regent and was made post 1985. If there was a pre-1858 large quarter bent pipe, I don't know what it was...

I can confirm that Kirsten is back in the pipe business. Recently I bought a brand new Kirsten Regent on EBAY. Subsequently Stacy of Kirsten confirmed they had put the pipe on EBay to test the market. Since then I have bought a half dozen mouthpieces, a few bowl attachments and medium and...

That kooks like a custom bowl on the pipe. The others look like standard bowls.

Two guesses depending on how big the pipe is" The pipe is either a second generation (1938-1958)or 3rd generation (1959-1985) or even a current generation Cavalier if it is a medium sized pipe. or it could be a Tyrolean (1938-1958)or a Regent in later years if it is a larger pipe. Have to...

    Ben Wade "Martinique"

There is one on Ebay now that is under Ben Wade but you have to go to the small print to see it is a Martinique. Not as nice as yours but the price is pretty good.

Beautiful pipe. Is it a Cavalier or a Regent? I just got a batch of parts for my Kirsten collection. Nice to see they are back in business.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (April 2016)

You all amaze me. I have smoked the same type pipe and tobacco for 33 years. The pipes are Kirstens and the tobacco is Captain Black. It was the first pipe I bought and now have 14. Never have tried another type.

I have a lot of them so I got spare parts, mouthpieces (5), an X-Large bowl, O rings & some X-long screws & bowl holders for quarter bent pipes.

I said I would follow up if my order from Kirsten came through. It did today.

I own 14 Kirsten pipes. Bought them one at a time at Fisherman's Terminal store in Seattle from 1984 to 2005. I recently bought one from EBAY listed as a brand new pipe. It's a Regent (large quarter bent) with an extra-large Meerschaum bowl. The mouthpiece had some white doodles on it. Got...
