    Tobacco Cards

I know they probably don't have value, but I have accumulated a number of complete sets of 1920-1930ish sets. The John Player and Sons is cool because it's pics of the entire process from ground to the store. The "Types of the World" is 50. No company logo. The images are incredible. Any...

    Pipe Repair...

I have a few higher end pipes that need fixed. Anthony was my go-to, but I think he retired. Who's doing quality work on stems these days?

Pipe(s) That You Will Never Smoke...

I have an extremely small, straight grained Eltang with a foot and a gold band. I have it sitting on my desk and will probably never smoke it. It's very small + I prefer it more as a display piece. It's the only pipe (out of the 100 or so I have owned) that I have never smoked. You have any...

If You Could Only Keep One...

If you had give away your cellar, and could only keep one tin/jar out of your collection...what would it be?

    Wessex Curly Block

Noticed that Heinrich isn't selling Curly Block under the PH brand anymore. Now it's a property of Wessex.

    If Tobacco Were Food...

To me, there are similarities between certain foods and the way that various tobaccos taste. Smokey, sweet, catsup, cinnamon, bready. I've always enjoyed drawing parallels between the two enjoyments of eating and smoking. Do you do the same? and if so, what tobacco and food remind you of each...

Pipes In Movies: Steve McQueen The Man & Le Mans

An excellent documentary about a complicated dude. There are a number of scenes of Drivers smoking pipes in the movie. McQueen was a real race car driver that took 2nd at Sebring. Very enjoyable flick.

    Opera...

Fan or not? It's the singular genre of music that I cannot stand, and I've tried. Seen some major productions....just shoot me in the second act.

    Davidoff Flake Medallions

Surprised there is not more love shown for Flake Medallions. At 5+ years this stuff is sublime. Fruiter than Escudo and even sweeter than BEF. Fantastic stuff that's readily available and underappreciated. Definitely one of my go-to's.

    OK...I Get It Now.

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) What is the classic blend that your tried to like... but couldn't. You gave the tobacco a good sampling, but never could "get it". With disappointment, you give up and put it away for another time. Then...one day you pick it up and there's that...

    My Orient Express

I have a problem. Over the past 5 years I can collected Virginia's of many forms. I have my technique down and @ 150+ pounds of various virginia's, my cellar is set for the end of time. Va-pers, va-ber's, flakes, coins or shag I love them all. I have wandered down the latakia road many times...

    Humorous Reviews...

For Fathers day, my son tried to be a good son and get hip Pop some Pipe Tobacco. He brings me a cob, a tool and a bag of Paladin Black Cherry, I was pleased that he made the effort. It was a good day for sure. After he left, I thought I would go on Tobacco Reviews and read what the "experts"...

    Comoy's Blue Ryband Extraordinaire Info...

Looking for any information on this pipe that was just re-finished by Anthony at Cooks. Thinking it's 1950's made?

    Sillem's Councilor Flake

A worthy flake that does not get many mentions. Bought a can at Strauss in Norther Ky when I visited last week. Sweet with lots of spice. Reminds me of a spicier version of Marlin flake. Becan is/was one of my favorites, Councilor is as close to Becan as I have found. It's my opinion and worth...

    Gauging the Popularity of Pipes...

I've read how shortages of many blends + the increased cost of pipes are an indicator of increased demand and popularity of piping. I am not sure that this is the case. Collectors are buying the supply of tobacco and driving prices up. There have to be other ways to gauge if the industry is...

    Payin' it Forward...

Tis the time of year to see if I (we) can make anyone's yule log happier this Holiday season. If you're in need, PM me and we'll see what we can do about helping to bring in your New Year with some fine leaf. Nobody here should be without a pipe-full to bring in the New Years. Also, if any of...

    Vacuum Sealing Aged Stogies

I have a bunch of sticks with 10+ years on them. They're probably at their very peak in terms of aging right now. The collection is in a converted thermo-electric wine fridge in a cool dry place. The unit is air tight and I only have to add some moisture (distilled H2O and beads) about every 2-3...
