    Esoterica At Bargain Prices

Kris That is a profound way to look at it. 6 bucks an hour for a sublime experience is no doubt a bargain. I am betting however, that more than just the tobacco went into your incredible smokes.

Question for the English blend smokers

Whitesands77, It's funny you mention Blackpoint as not much body. Just last night I followed a bowl of BP with a bowl of Star of the East. I couldn't even finish the SOTE, because it was so flavorless in comparison. Blackpoint with some age turns into a very full body smoke. Tastes vary though.

What is the sweetest smoking pipe you own ?

I really enjoy contemplating on others views about something so subjective. I didn't really mean that most of my pipes smoke like dogshit and one doesn't. But I realize now I could have worded it; do you have a favorite pipe? This might have yielded a slight different group of answers, but who...

What is the sweetest smoking pipe you own ?

Warren, While I agree that the goal is to own a stable of sweet pipes. I am still working towards that goal. It seems that it can only be acquired through trial and error. Also, the more time you have dedicated to the goal the better the outcome. I hope to some day a a few more that are...

What is the sweetest smoking pipe you own ?

It's probably been asked before, but what the heck. What is the sweetest smoking pipe you have. Pipe design, construction and break in is an interesting topic to me and it got me to thinking. What is the sweetest smoking pipe I have? I should clarify, by "sweetest" I am referring to the most...

Breaking In A New Pipe:What Actually Does It Involve?

Oldreddog, thanks again. I have heard of more than one guy sanding his Peterson bowl/shank.

Breaking In A New Pipe:What Actually Does It Involve?

onestrangeone, That is interesting. I have two pipes that are notorious for giving out at the have way mark. But they are well seasoned. I had assumed it had more to do with the geometry of a tapered bowl and slightly high draft hole. But none the less, they are finicky and want the last...

Breaking In A New Pipe:What Actually Does It Involve?

oldreddog, Thanks, was this a pipe that had been dipped in stain, or was the bowl and shank clean wood?

Breaking In A New Pipe:What Actually Does It Involve?

oldreddog, I am really curious about this topic. I have heard of people naming Peterson pipes as the most stubborn of brands to "break in". I have not experienced this, but many have. Will you please define how the pipe was acting. Was it an off taste ? You must have had a bit of cake after 8...

Dunhill Pipe Tobacco - A message from STG Lane

drezz, "I can't think of another brand which covers your bases as easily for the beginner." Or old timer for that matter. There is a long history to the brand. I only smoke NC and 965, but it is a loss none the less.

Dunhill Pipe Tobacco - A message from STG Lane

I don't mean to beat on this horse, but.... I can only imagine that if Dunhill is dropping their pipe tobaccos, it is because it is no longer a profit center. They surely must have known this was coming, so why the recent revival of 3 year matured, BB1938, Ye old signe, etc. Most marketing...
