    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Just a quick update on my second smoke. I cleaned the bowl as soon as I finished this time, there were still a few new pieces of tobacco that got stuck near the bottom like the last time, it's definitely not as bad as the first bowl though. Guess I'll just have to live with that.

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I tried my best at cleaning it, there's still a lump of tobacco that I can't for the life of me get rid of. At this point, I'm just glad that it's not one of my more treasured pieces.

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Yes, does it look that bad?

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Haven't gotten round to it yet on my pipe rotation, I will smoke it again tomorrow. And here's what the inside looks like currently, I just hope I haven't scratched it up too badly.

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who's encountered this. Mine is also a straight bulldog, sandblast finish.

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

That's strange, I always leave the ash and whatnot in my pipes and clean them the next day (because I've heard somewhere ages ago that doing this is better for your pipes somehow), never had this problem before though, even in my other Pete's. You're probably right, might be the coating in this...

    Why Was My Pipe Clogged?

Hi everyone, it's been years since I've been on this site, so I apologise in advance if this was posted in the wrong section, or there was already a thread about my issue that I just failed to find. So last night I smoked a bowl of Pirate Kake in my brand new Peterson Irish Harp (in case this is...

    Message from Carver (Thibault)

Well, actually Kevin, the admin of this forum, sent him a "congratulations and good luck for your endeavour" message but also told him that he had to take the post down because it wasn't, as you said, allowed to do advertising. Kevin did offer him ad rates. Carver was banned soon after that...

    Message from Carver (Thibault)

My friend Carver/Thibault was recently banned from this forum, he sent me this email that he wanted me to share with you, to explain his side of things. This is the email he sent to all members of mytobaccocellar.com.

    filter stuck in the pipe

Or you might just be a very wet smoker. I used to be one too, and I too have gotten a Dr. Perl filter stuck in a Vauen, but I got it stuck in the shank (somehow). It broke when I tried pulling it out. Admittedly Dr. Perls are prone to breaking, the paper they use to wrap the carbon grains are...

    The Pipecleaner Debate

I like BJLongs because they aren't too hairy like many other makers', so less likely to clog up the stem with loose hair; they are very bendy and hence easier to pass through a full-bent pipe. Since the majority of my pipe have narrow air way, their thinness doesn't bother me.

    Loose Stem

I've heard of this method too, though in that version it is recommended to allow the shank to dry completely before reinserting the stem.

    Presbyterian Mixture

Solid blend. I found it similar in flavour to Peterson Old Dublin, and I personally prefer the latter, though both of them are very tasty.

    Pipe Smoking, Tobacco, and China

And me being in China, would also hope to contribute. Oh wait, no I don't.

Which Countries Make the Most Pipes?

Yes, if you count mass-produced cobs then I guess it would be USA. I reckon Italy produces the most pipes otherwise, considering so many brands are Italian.

    Problem with Full-Bent

I don't much like the idea of using windcaps indoors, especially on a pipe that I really like. And position it to the side works but not quite comfortable. I guess I just can't smoke this pipe clenching.

    Your First Smoke?

Like many pipers here, my first smoke wasn't pleasant. Got my self a cheap Bjarne Viking and a pouch of Cap Black Gold as I recall. Bit the living hell out of my, the flavour wasn't enjoyable. Fortunately I was able to redeem pipe smoking with a tin of Dunhill EMP afterwards.

    Problem with Full-Bent

@pagan That's the dilemma, who'd think one of the best clencher is bad for clenching?

    Flying with pipes and tobacco

I always pack my tobacco in my check-in luggage, and pipes carry-on: my babies don't leave my side. :-) Lighters however is a bit tricky, you can't bring lighters on some flights even in check-ins, but you can carry them on in other flights, depending on the laws of the area you are in.

How Did Pipe Shapes Get Their Names.

A lot of the explanations sound like they were made up after the shape was already named. But then who cares? I like shapes with unexplanable names, makes people wonder about its origin.
