Hackert Quality... Gone Down?
Jake Hackert (Who isn't a young buck hawky454) is a humble guy who puts out some great pipes. He certainly has a signature look. I bought one new and I agree he does leave a heavy coating inside the bowl that you can taste, everything else was very well done.- delro

Pipe smelling like ashtray
Swabbing the inside of the bowl with a paper towel and alcohol will work. They sell something called pipe cure I believe that is alcohol with a fresh mint scent to help cover up the ashtray smell. If it continues to bother you then unfortunately that comes with the territory of burning tobacco...- delro

What's Up With The Seattle Pipe Club Blends?
My first bulk buy of MR was outstanding...my next pound not so much. So I went back to buying the tins and it was the same shwag as before. Put your baccy in a plastic bag then in the rubber sleeve, that way you know it wont leave anything behind. That is what I do- delro
