    Blade Runner 2049 (No Spoilers!)

I saw it on opening day and loved it. A bit long yes, but I would have gladly sat there for another hour; I just love the world those movies have crafted. I also love that for how deep and involved the world they've created is, the movies rely very little on exposition (Harrison Ford's...

    Impulse Estate Purchase - Stanwell

I agree MSO, not that I have anything against Italian made pipes, but I cherish my Canadian, GB and American made pipes and am excited to have a pipe from Denmark in the collection. And thank you everyone for the kind words and shared excitement. The inaugural smoke was terrible. I dug the...

    Impulse Estate Purchase - Stanwell

Long time since my last post, but I needed to share this with someone. My significant other, for reasons I can't quite understand, never shares in my enthusiasm for these things. I've been keeping my eye open for a made in Denmark Stanwell for some time now, and happened to come across an estate...

New Life for Tin Art - Jar Labels

Sooooo it turns out I deleted the files off dropbox to make space without realizing that those were the only files I had. Woops.... Did anyone happen to download them? Not a huge loss but I was hoping to send them to mrgunnar.

    Tactical pipe bag?

I don't know what all of you are talking about, I clicked on the link and didn't see anything...

My first experiences + asking recommendations for tobacco

Welcome! My entry into the hobby was not so different from yours, with the exception of the particulars. I thought pipe smoking neat, became curious, and started googling. I started with an unfinished Hungarian-shaped Savinelli and a tobacco blend offered to me by a friend who described it as...

    My new Cutty

I can't speak for all Saskatchewanians, but for me it's more of a waking slumber fueled by coffee when the sun is up and whisky when it's down.

Dunhill Pipe Tobacco - A message from STG Lane

Good question. I have nothing to base this on, but maybe the decision is coming from a higher level that doesn't typically concern themselves with what the tobacco-branch is doing. I know some people tend to say that Dunhill blends are overrated, but as a new pipe-smoker they were indispensable...

New Life for Tin Art - Jar Labels

No problem gents, better than them just sitting on my computer! If you get a chance, I'd try to find a better image of the Escudo art. Most of the labels turned out pretty well but for some reason this one is a little soft. The Meat Pie label could suffer to be sharper as well.

Sure! I'll upload them to the link above this evening.

New Life for Tin Art - Jar Labels

I would suggest the first method for that - I've seen several hobbyists use modge podge to make coasters out of old maps and such. Just need a stiffer backing and you'd be good to go!

New Life for Tin Art - Jar Labels

I decided to revive this old thread instead of starting a new one because I learned that using modge podge wasn't a great idea. Some of the lids had become seized shut and needed to be pried off the modge podge'd labels. Additionally, I have been suffering from a bit of TAD and my collection has...

    Finally A Tin Of Penzance

I was lucky enough to grab one tin online. I was really hoping the rumours were true, and that it would be overrated and not to my liking. I was very disappointed to find that I liked it quite a bit. I've been rationing those 2oz's but they are all but gone now.

Savinelli 6mm Filter Pipe Without The Filter

Although I prefer to use the filters in Sav's 6mm pipes, my local B&M doesn't stock them. I find the adapter to be the next best thing, I seem to develop a gurgle more easily when I smoke them sans adapter. The biggest drawback of the adapter, I find, is that it is a little short of the chamber...

    Canadian Whiskey Recommendations

Very interesting side note indeed! I'm definitely going to have to follow up on your Canadian Club 100% Rye recommendation.

    Canadian Whiskey Recommendations

I'm a scotch guy, truth be told, but of the Canadian offerings I have to echo the support of Forty Creek. Even Ralphy approves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQSgkwlEeGk Forty Creek also makes an exceptional cream liqueur which is far better than Bailey's - if you're in to that kind of thing...

    Canadian Box Pass Round 3

Looking forward to it! I will be adding another lesser esoterica, Kingsbridge. We will be getting pretty close to having their whole product catalog represented!

    Praise for Ryan Alden

I've got two commissions from Ryan and they are by far my favourite pipes; in fact, I've got a third one in the works! His lines and proportions are always spot on and the mechanics are flawless. He's a great guy to work with too. My last two commissions have started with a handful of images of...
