    Crazy Canadian Border Fees

This makes me nervous... I just placed my 1st ever order from 4Noggins... It's under 200g, so shouldn't be too bad if I do get nailed for duty, but I hope not.

Newbie question - Which order to smoke tobacco

I'm fairly new to pipe-smoking but I have quickly discovered that it's hard to "plan" what to smoke. What I personally have fallen into is just grabbing what strikes me as being a good smoke at the moment. Hasn't steered me wrong thus far.

Another dumb question - Hot Bowl

What type/brand of pipe is it? Because the first thing I can say is, "Slow down, mate." Sometimes that's an indication you're puffing away too fast. If a cigarette is a 50 meter dash, think of a pipe like a marathon... Slow and steady is the winner. That being said, I have encountered one...

    Different kinds of wood

Well. I'm still fairly new to this whole past time, but...... I'll throw this out there. I have a few good quality pipes, that I paid top-dollar for. I also have a few 'El Cheapos' from when I first started and didn't want to get too deep in cash. I don't pretend to understand most of this...

How to Tell My Dad that I Smoke/ I Want to Smoke With Him

To the OP of this thread: I have had a similar experience with my father, though he doesn't smoke. When I first started, I was terrified to tell him I was smoking cigarettes. In the end, he 'caught' me one day when I was about 17, I guess. It was a short conversation. He asked how long I'd...

Smokong - all the way down?

I am fairly new to this whole pipe-smoking venture as well. The best advice I got was early on... A guy told me to relax, don't worry about right or wrong, or anything. Just enjoy the smoke, and if it goes out... relight, and keep going. Now, as to the ash, I have experienced this...

    Help a newbie?

As has been said... Start with a few cobs. Relatively inexpensive so if you decide you don't like it, it's not going to hurt so much. However, even if you DO stay with it, well... I still smoke my cobs here and there, so they're not wasted. =)

    Naming Pipes

Oddly enough... I'm fairly new to this whole thing, but I've named the 6 pipes I have so far. LOL Although, the novelty is already wearing off...... Can't see it continuing for long. Especially with PAD slowly taking hold of me.

To filter, or not to filter?!

Personal preference I'd say. Myself, I only use them when smoking some of my cobs with certain tobaccos. Most times, I don't use one, but a few of my cobs have a larger airway, so I'll filter so that I don't get bits of ash and such in my mouth. But I'd say it's completely personal preference.

Pear Wood Brog as first pipe?

I, like many others started out with a cob. Yes, it may look funny. Yes, some people might stare. But...... You're going to feel a lot worse if you spend a ton of money and realize it's not for you, won't you? At least that was my thought when I began. I bought a couple cheap cobs and...

    4Noggins to Atlantic Canada?

Thank you, Alex. This was the answer I was really looking for. I appreciate everyone's replies, regardless, but this answers the specific question I had.

    4Noggins to Atlantic Canada?

Hi all. I've recently taken up pipe-smoking. However, there's not much available in my home town for tobaccos other than OTC brands. Which are ok, but I'd like to experience more. My question is this: I've talked to people in Ontario and Western Canada who have used and loved 4noggins, but...
