    Dottle question

I call it the gravy point..when the last third of the pipe takes off sizzling... I figure its the last bit of moisture being heated...and Its always a signal to me that its about done, then pushing it much beyond that point..seems to be a worth less than the effort it takes to chase the burn...

    A "better pipe"

Get a Paypal acct...so you can shop all over...let your fingers do the clicking.. Its nice to give the local tobacconist business..but its not always convenient. You will find a lot online for those times when you cant make a drive. Ive had an acct for over 10 years..and I tell you its a safe...

Tongue and Lip Bite .... Again

For some training, Try smoking a Virginia and keeping it cool with a paced draw and choke up on the bit to find a comfortable position a lot of lip bite is caused by to much pinching down. ..IMO.

    Padron 1964 in a pipe

Hi Guys thanks for the comments. The natural 64 is what I was referring to. Now I will say that I used to smoke the Principe sizes the most although I had a few of the larger torpedoes from time to time.. My next target acquisition ...tobacco for this realm of taste would be Chelsea Morning...

    Padron 1964 in a pipe

Hey Brass, it was a fresh tin with some age on it. Fairly dried ready to smoke. Ill say that its close but a touch different with the Latakia which is not dominant enough to take over the blend. Very close and in the same camp , almost the same campfire..IMO Id be interested in your...

    Padron 1964 in a pipe

Well Ive been smoking only about a year or coming up there abouts and I always wanted to duplicate the Padron 64 anniversary cigar in my pipe. Thick buttery smoke and spice. Answer: Dunhill 965 I found it in 965 so Ill put my vote in for a very nice smoke that I had been missing since leaving...

    The Dentist.

Ive decided that Ill live with stains...and get 2 cleanings a year. My main concern is flossing and keeping the tissues healthy. I always have a glass of water afterward and a good brush at night. Gingivitis is the real risk IMO

    Near-Death Experiences

When my Dad went to the otherly world we gathered around his bed while he was in decline. I said a few things to him and I told him that everything that needed to be said had been said which was true, We each said our goodbye to him and I wished him a good journey. I wanted him to pass and...

What is your definition of Heavy Pipe Smoking

Im taking 6 days off..for various reasons..hahahahahah! CAn I do it? I don't smoke more than 1 a day 2 at the most. For me..myself and I...1 a day is on the heavy side actually...lightweight here. Ive noticed that if I take a week off even two the tobacco becomes just that much more...

What makes one pipe smoke better than another?

IMHO...being a new guy..having broken in and owned a handful Ill put it to 2 main factors going along with predecessors. Grade and dryness of briar- that being how well it takes heat cycles and how much moisture is present in the wood. and Flow of the draft...being adequate for draw and...

Finding a preference for tighter draw pipes

Hi flow = Hi taste for me..my current mindset. I think there is a reasonable minimum limit beyond which..low flow becomes a detriment.. Doing a free draw, I can tell you whether the pipe is for me.

English Blends and Stanwell (45) Models

    PreCarb Pipes

Ooo Just got a 624KS Bulldog..not the first pipe with precarb coating...Ive burned it down twice or three I like the idea of the coating..and because its a thick pipe I went from a half bowl to full in short order with good control. Good smoker. I just wonder if I should have removed the...

    Nicotine experience?

Hmm I was holding off on FVF...for Best brown for the very reason..that I thought it might be too much of a kicker..but maybe its best to judge each on its own then. I had some McB Old Dark after a meal the other night with moderate affect..not bad..not overwhelming.
