    Savenelli Unfinished Pipes, My Three

The unfinished Sav's are spectacular pipes. I got my first one in 2012 from my Secret Santa, a full bent billiard, and was able to purchase a straight billiard and a pot a couple years ago. When I got those two I think they were 30-35 a piece, now I see them going for about fifty but they are...

Beautiful work!!! Ebony is very nice wood, definitely interested in how it smokes.

    Support for C&D

I'll always buy C&D blends. They have so much variety and outstanding blends. Even if I did get a moldy tin I know that they would take care of the problem. So no worries on my part.

    Wow Holiday Spirit 2016

Holiday Spirit is one of the better aromatics. IMO it even ages very well, I have some still left from 2012 and it is still tasty. I haven't tried their bulk but McClellands tinned aro's are wonderful.

    Barontini Pipes

I just received a Barontini Gran Duo in a lot of pipes. It is a nice bent Dublin with a smoky grey acrylic stem. The only other stampings on it are "106" and "Italy". Still need to clean it up but it looks like a very nice and solid pipe. Initially I thought it may have been one of the cheap...

    The Savinelli Billiards

Nice looking group of pipes. I like a lot of different shapes but I have more billiards than any other. They are just classic and a nice comfortable shape.

Would this be an 'OK' starter pipe?

I agree with shutterbugg here. Since you are just starting out I would go with a decent sampling of various tobaccos and a Dr Grabow or a Rossi pipe. If you don't care about looks of the pipe then a cob or two also, for me the cob is the best smoke. If you are dead set on your pipe though, go...

    Oldest Pipe You Smoke

Not sure exactly but I have a couple Kaywoodies and KBB Yello Boles that date from the mid thirties. They cleaned up well and smoke great. The majority of my briars are from the 40's to the 60's and some of these old pipes are fantastic smokers. I like to think that any well engineered pipe...

Can a Heavy(Dense) Briar Pipe Smoke Well?

You are probably worrying about a non issue, the only way to tell if it is a good smoker is to load it up and have at it.

    ordering from 4 noggins

If you do get a Falcon bowl from 4N be sure to check out their own bulk blends to fill it. Bald Headed Teacher and Nutty Professor are excellent blends.

    Missouri Meerschaum Ozark Came Apart

Yes, just use a bit of wood glue on it. They probably used corn cob glue on it by mistake.

    Quality Issues With That Unicorn

It could be a batch variation or different crop or maybe how it was stored before it got to you. Anything is possible.

    FVF Group Tasting Sample Reviews

I got my samples in today and got to smoke a bowl of each. Both were smoked in similar MM cobs and the aged stuff is way smoother. The newer FVF had a harshness to it and a muddier taste, had I smoked this on its own I'm sure I would of enjoyed it but in comparison the aged FVF is sublime...

    A Newbie Reviews: Balkan Sasieni

I like the Sasieni a little better than the Sobranie. Also I prefer my blends with Lat in them to have a bit of age on them, at least most of them, something like Pirate Kake it doesn't matter to me. It has been a while since I smoked Balkan Sasieni but I cellared a few tins more of this than...

Tea Drinkers - What Online Stores Do You Use?

Upton Tea is excellent for mail order and they mail out a real print catalog with lots of good info. Fresh tea is awesome but I also like Celestial Seasonings and other pouch tea too.

    Briar Pipes and Water

I have had a lot of estate pipes and I used to wash some with water. Now water can damage some finishes but as for the integrity of the pipe it is fine. I can't remember where I saw it but someone submerged a briar for a good bit of time and weighed the before and after and it absorbed very...
