Impact of Bowl Shapes on Smoking Quality

I agree with you guys about the smoking technique over pipe qualities... In most case as long as the pipe was not so poorly made, I would by gut feelings knew how to pack and get a great smoke out of that. But a well engineered (or say, properly customized to one’s own habits) pipe will always...

Impact of Bowl Shapes on Smoking Quality

Embers, This is just my two cent addressing a few of the vast range of factors may affect smoking quality. The materials of cob and briar are quite different, and particularly for cobs they have flat bottom (if the space beneath is packed with tobacco or ash) and the air way enters side ways...

I have tried...

    Cure Your Wet Smoking Pipe

The dill size has very little to do with a pipe smokes wet or not... It is the bowl shape and where the air hole enters that determine the qualities of smoke, among which the most important thing is the temperature. For every 20C higher the moisture in air would at least double... and if a...

Advice on Buying Meerschaum from Turkey

Well, most carved meers look great but smoke bad...owning to the cheap plastic mortise/tenon set which constrains the airflow. Stick to Baki, IMP, AB pipes and some few carvers using normal tenon (e.g. Tekin) for meers. That's my only and always advice for guys with meer PAD...
