Pipe Smoking Study, It Doesn't Look Good.

"a pipe makes one relax, become instrospective, reflective, and contemplative (no wonder socialists would hate it: as man becomes introspective and contemplative, he might end up thinking about God, and they can't have that, can they?" Weird inference here - why would introspection lead to...

Are There Tobaccos You Consider Acquired Tastes?

That's really one of the interesting thing about tobacco for me. I frequently end up liking blends I didn't care for at first, and growing tired of blends that once excited me. Can't say the same for music, beer or people, for which I seldom change my first impressions.

    Cuts in mouth and smoking

Bit my tongue really badly last night and it'll take a couple days to heal. Instincts are telling me not to smoke until it has, but is there any real reason not to?

I have enjoyed reading banjo's posts and while I never knew the man, one can't help sensing a beautiful spirit. The forum has lost a valued member, but we are richer for his wit and wisdom. Deepest condolences to his family.

PSA - Sometimes Your Favorite Blend Stops Being Your Favorite

It comes and goes doesn't it. For a year Director's was my go to, now there's no life in the blend for me. Sure it'll change back one day. Right now I'm loving the Sixpence I couldn't stand for ages no matter how many times I went back to it.

    How long should I cellar?

I really love the alchemical aspect of these aging questions... So judging from the GL Pease quote above, there is a 'different' aging process going on in the original tin from any aging that occurs once that tobacco is transferred to a ball jar or other airtight container. Can anyone elaborate...
