    Nic Hit

I am nic sensitive and have a cellar full of med to high nic tobaccos that I cannot smoke. I get a headache that I call a buzz all the way to a raging pounding throb. There is a lot of info about nic issues but a good one is here. I stay away from fire cured dark Virginas and look for...

Who Made This Pipe and How Do I Fix This Hole?

As the shank was drilled surely with a metric sized bit you could buy a small set of metric bits at a Home Depot or Lowes and find the one that fits snugly. Then slide the smooth end into the shank to the location of the hole. Whatever you use to fill the hole then will be blocked from...

    Smoking a Horn

I have one and wanting to buy another. The one I have would be called a size 6 by Steve Weiner (click here). It smokes well but it is not for a clincher as the horn shape puts a lot of briar further from your teeth--so it feels heavy. I have not had a problem with the heat on the rim. I like...

    Tribute Tobaccos

I have not tried it but will order soon Revelation Match by Russ O. of H&H. I have enjoyed but not as much as others -- Princes Street Mixture by Dick Silverman as the replica of John Cotton 1&2. This was the winner of the Seattle and New York Pipe Clubs–organizers of the 2011 Balkan Sobranie...

How Do You Keep Your Tobacco

Mason jars are cheap and reliable. I first tried those like in your photo but one did not seal well and the plastic seal on two split after several months. I also found them harder to fill the pipe.

    Looking for something smoky

If you are looking for a nic kick then Jack Knife Plug kicked my nic sensitive butt to the ground and kept on kicking. I will trade the tin minus one bowl for a VA/Oriental blend.

    Kinda Irked at My B&M.

I understand and have been "there". Here in Houston, the 4th largest city in the USA, there are really only three B&M's, Two have pipes and bulk tobacco and some tins but are really in the cigar business and cater to those buyers. One even took down the pipe shop sign and now it says CIGARS...

    McClelland's Old Dog

Sounds great. Thanks for posting it as I had not come across it. I like such blends and my fav so far is Larry's Blend by H&H. Anyone know how Old Dog compares to Larry?

    Houston Area

I am on 1960 near Willowbrook and work downtown. Pick a spot and let's do it. I have a tin or two I cannot take anymore and many remnants in jars to trade. The Briar Shoppe is a great B&M but dangerous after a few brews. There are a couple of great outdoor type pubs almost across the street...

    Advice on Tobacco

I agree with Jud. If you want to try an English with latakia try Frog Morton on the Town. If you want to try one with heavy orientals (the original English) then try Magnum Opus by H&H. Then step on to the heavier blends that are commonly thought of as the traditional English: that is...

    Pipes for Troops

I am in to help with the MM's. Good idea--how do we transfer the funds. I also have a few ebay briars that were not quite what I hoped and can ship them...where? Part of the issue with the Corporate donations may be that he needs a non-profit so they get a tax deduction. Does anyone know a...
