    Canadian Box Pass Round 3

Hi guys, good to see the box is back in business and ben88 is doing better. What a wonderful way to try some new stuff. I'm getting out now as I've settled on a couple mainstay tobaccos and have stopped buying pipes. My bank account thanks me :-) Best of luck!

And We Brits Think You Yanks Are Bonkers.

    Well, there goes my Saturday.

    Pipe Smoking In Elizabethan England.

I enjoy reading history ocassionally as long as the content is not too dry. Liza Picard's books look like an interesting read. I have a huge used book store around the corner and I'm going to see if I can find one there on my lunch break. My favourite historical London novel so far is...

Happy birthday! I always enjoy reading your posts.

    I Just Tried Deer Tongue

@stickframer: I have some Gentleman caller that's been sitting in a jar since October '14 that I'm more than happy to mail out to you. I didn't care for it much at all. I get more of an "apple pie" aroma from it than I do vanilla. I've come back to it a couple of times and it's just not for me...

Health Canada to Reinvent Approach to Tobacco Control

I'm encouraged to see they are at least considering harm reduction as part of the new strategy. On the other hand I'm skeptical that it will come to anything since the anti-tobacco lobby is so strong here. In addition to vaping products, there are also new tobacco products emerging on the global...

Tobaccos I'd Rather Not Live Without

McClelland St. James Woods, SG Cabbie's Mixture, C&D Bayou Morning. That's pretty much all I'm buying now.

    S/G Cabbies mixture soap taste?

I've been through a half a dozen tins so far and haven't noticed anything floral or soapy. I have some more on the way to me right now and I'm interested to see if it appears in the newer stuff. I'll crack a new tin when it gets to me to find out.

    Beards and Beard Oil

I use Big Red Beard Balm on my van dyke as my beard is pretty wiry. It helps keep the strays in check and it smells great. The one I have now is called Noble which has a nice citrus scent.

To all of you smokers with kids.

    I'm in Ontario, Canada.

To all of you smokers with kids.

It's illegal here to smoke in a car with children under 16 and I have no problem with that. I don't know at what age I would consider it to be OK, I see no need to expose anybody to my pipe smoke in an enclosed space like a car. On a long car ride I can leave the pipe alone and snus or dip if I...

    Ropp Pipes

I have a huge Ropp Canadian, it's about 9 inches long. It's a great smoker and excellent value for the $70 or so I paid for it.

    What's Your Lineage?

My dad's side are United Empire Loyalists who settled in Quebec and Ontario after the American Revolution. The old farmstead granted to his paternal side is still in the family near Napanee Ontario. Mom's side emigrated to Canada from England and Scotland during the late 19th/early 20th century.

    MM Devil Anse Cobs

I have to get one of those from work, the pony express I use is almost ready for retirement. I wasn't going to buy any pipes this year :-)
